((( Best Fuel for our CS )))

I have heard diff opinions about what is the best fuel for our CS. Shell, BP, Chevron...is there any sort of documentation out there that could show if one is better than the other for our CS specifically?

I remember seeing that Shell V-Power was bad for bimmers, perhaps there is a "best fuel" for our CS.

Thanks.

Sorry, just something I do in all my cars' forums...i guess it's become a sort of trademark for all my threads...if that doesn't fly here then i guess I won't do it.

The Tech Q&A Forum on PCA Panorama web site endorses Chevron w/ Techron. A few months ago, there was a question on fuel additives, at which time Techron was singled out and Chevron was endorsed.

For track days, I add 4 gallons of Sunoco 100 octane to my tank, then fill w/ 91 octane Chevron if available, though in a pinch I'll use any of the major chains. I avoid no-name brands as they can have some water or other garbage in their gas.

Here in Canada we can get a 94 octane Chevron gas. Most other brands are 91 or 92 octane for the premium grade... Chevron is the only one with a "supreme plus'' grade. Porsche recommends at least 93 0ctane, so Chevron is all I ever use. On trips across the border to Washington state I still buy Chevron, but 92 octane is their highest grade.

Well... I have no preference on the road. My $0.02 is that you want to be carful if you play with racing fuels.

AVgas (blue fuel, high octane used in planes) is also called Low Lead. Not good on the four wideband O2's these baby's have tucked underneath... So, although it is high octane - Just say no.
