Does anyone have experiences with valet parking who scufffing up your wheels?

I went to the Eliot Hotel in Boston for dinner tonight. So I had to valet the car. When i picked up my car after dinner, I saw that the valet was nice enough to park my car right outside the hotel instead of in the garage. I noticed that my car was parked really close to the curb so I went over to check if he had scuffed it up. It was really dark so I didn't see the bottom half of the lip. After I got home, i realized that there's a 3-4 inch scuff mark on the lip. Do you guys think the hotel should take responsibility for the damage? The resale value of my rims will greatly decrease because of this.

For sure they should be responsible, but will be hard to prove??? Try talking to them anyways, as it will cost you s few hundred dollars to fix the scuff marks.

Try Rimpro in Tewksbury. They had done a great job in refinishing my wheels. Looks like you have a 3 piece wheel so it will cost more to get that repaired but it will still be cheaper than a replacement.

Regarding the claim, I think it will be difficult to prove the valet did that once you picked up the car.

I have never in my life used valet I always drop off my wife and park it myself in a garage, then walk to the hotel/rest/club I did it with the audi and will do it with the CS. Not only that I dont trust them to take care of my car, I dont want anything stolen.

Agreed, I should start parking my car from now on.

well, i've seen worst picture but i know how it felt when ur car is damaged by some careless people. you can get it repaired for like a few hundreds per wheels.

i've always tell the valet people that i pay for the valet but i park it myself and at a place where i can see it.

maybe that will work?

I park my car myself. Fortunately in this country, most valet-parking lots are near the entrance so I can park it myself OR because I drive a fancy car, I can park it immidiately outside the hotel entrance. Hotels actually encourage this sort of parking. It displays what sort of people are inside

Yep, park on your own, away from every other car. Croc seems to be an idiot magnet. Keep the fools away.

I have the same problem with door dings in parking lots. Seems like everyone wants to get up close and personal

I have merged the two threads and put them in the "tires and wheels" forum.

Clay_Man - As hsjb has said - please don't post the same topic to different forums... if you need a refresher, please read through the 'posting rules" that are at the top of each forum. Thanks.
