17" 996 wheels on CS?

Hi guys I asked this question on the UK forum but thought no harm in asking here too.
My sister in law has just got rid of her 996 Targa, she has a spare 17" set of OEM wheels with winter tyres. On my CS I have the standard 18" rims fitted with 5mm spacers do you guys think the 17s would fit on my car?
Cheers

did anyone get this combo to work?!? 17x8 and 17x9" 996 rims on a cayman s??? or is the front brakes on the cayman S too big for 17" wheels??? like others, i keep seeing conflicting info when this subject is searched...i have the factory 5mm spacers already on the car, front and rear...

only one way to find out..bolt them up!

Its hard to say about the brake clearance, but one think I have noticed with looking for aftermarket wheels is the 996 offsets, especially in the front, are a bit different, and the front wheels may stick out beyond the fenders (You definitely need to remove the spacers in the front)
