Need Opinion from Actual PASM owners with 18" Wheels

Ordering CS with 18" Wheels and PASM ( I like 18 " rubbber and wheels, less price and taller side walls give more leeway when accidentally going thru pot holes and scrraping side curbs with simialr or better handling than 19 )

I like a nice taught ride but not a harsh ride on bad roads

My guess is, PASM helps the ride quality on 19" wheels more than 18" wheels( since 18" is more complaint ) in NORMAL mode but should nicley Firm up on 18 and19" wheels in NORmal when pushing the car

I only drove it on 18" and found it nice and supple but that was a short test drive

Need Opinion from Owners of 18" and PASM on how they find the ride in Normal Mode?

Thanks

Mine rides fine for me in "Normal". I will put it in sport mode when the roads are not too bad or I am on the mountain twistys...but seems like I use normal mode more so than sport. However, when doing any AutoX it is sport mode all the way...sometimes with psm off....woohoo

The ride in normal mode is fine, firm but not harsh. If you are worry about harsh ride get the 18", I think 19" will be worse.

Just like what hvdcman says when you need the extra firmless then turn on the PASM.

In a PASM car, PASM is on whether you're in normal or sport mode. It's just the damping function that changes. Active in both cases. And while you're at it note that PASM doesn't change ride height when changing from regular to sport mode. All PASM 987's are about a cm lower than all non-PASM 987's (assuming OEM suspension).

I have PASM and 18" wheels. I love the "grand touring" ride I get on my commute with this combination. I would not have purchased the car without this option. I did not like the ride w/18"s and the normal suspension. FWIW.

Very happy with my 18's and PASM. I hadn't driven one before getting my car, but had driven a 997 with 19's and PASM a bunch. I was pleasantly surprised with the ride of the 18's. And, pushing the sport button makes it plenty stiff for me......

Do you remember if the ride on on the 18" with PASM a significant improvement over the 19" with PASM?

June 2007 issue of Motor Trend article on "America's Best Handling Car'--much reported-on in this Cayman Club site-- rated the CS first by a nice margin in the caregory of RIDE QUALITY, ahead of BMW 335i and Honda Civic Si, to name two. Ride Quality was a test to measure the driver's experience of ride vibration in three axes. The CS in the test was equiped with 19's and PASM. My car is also equiped this way, and I consider the ride quality to be downright luxurous--unless in "sport mode". If you are worried about too stiff/firm a ride with 19's and PASM,you can stop --it isn't.
