23,000 miles on a set of tires, suggestions for new tires ?

Seems the front tires still have tread left (Michelin PS2). Markers are not at the level of the tread jet. As an adjunct to the question are the tire pressure sensors in the wheel or the tire ?

Thanks for your response in advance.

The sensors are attached to the inside of the wheel. Make sure that the sensors are checked for tightness. I had one that came loose and caused the tire to lose pressure (down to the rim) within ten hours.

I haven't tried any other street tires on the CS, but I can't imagine any other existing street tire working better on the CS than the PS2 does. Some replace just the rears when the fronts still have tread depth remaining, but I prefer fresh rubber at both ends.

They are attached to the top of the valve stem inside the wheel (& thus also inside the tire).

I have to agree. I've 12,500 on mine and one more track day (Oct. 4th) will most likely do them in.

I replaced my rear tires at 21,000 after picking up a nail. My fronts easily have a few thousand miles left on them, but I did buy a set of 4 from Tire Rack (yes, papa Ken, I did it from our sponsor link) to get the road hazard. I just haven't mounted the fronts yet. I don't see how you can beat this kind of milage with a great high performance tire! Michelin PS2s rock!

As for track tires, I'm on my 4th set and still experimenting...

Jah - I'm at about 20,000 km and winter is coming. I will put the winter Michelin Alpins on this week*, and think about new summer tires all winter. (*Especially since we are driving to Jasper Alberta this weekend and temps will go down below freezing overnight = cold wet roads in the early mornings.)

Observations:
- Left side tires are worn more on outer edge due to anti-clockwise autocross circuit here.
- A puncture in right front was repaired by the dealer last summer (wood screw) and held together for autocrossing (3 days worth) and many fast km to British Columbia and back.
- I like the PS2's and see no reason to change.
- I would buy from TireRack if I could determine whether they ship to Canada: emails and forum posts last year went unanswered.
- Would do all 4 corners like Jim stated.

I would go with the PS2s as well. Looking at 25k on mine with 5 (beginner) AutoXs. Hopefully tirerack will get them in stock shortly, as I don't know how many more miles are left....

Thanks guys for your helpful suggestions, I think I'm going to stick with the PS2's as recommended, now I have to decide whether to go with all 4 or the rears only.

I have read where it is best to have the same compound version on both the front and the back. For example, if you have N0 on now and the version you purchase is an N1 or an N2, there will be a difference in the stickiness. Also your front tires have been through a number of heat cycles and ozone exposure which will also effect their grip. Highly recommend you just bite the bullet on this one.
