valve stem reminder
Use only plastic valve caps per the manual (page 210 of the '06 version).
Didn't read the manual? Read this.

Helping another member out who had OEM wheels but aftermarket metal valve caps and incorrect pressure readings on his TPMS; going back to plastic solved the problem. Don't really understand why.

The metal interferes with the transmitter that will transmit through the valve stem. Plastic allows it to pass while the metal will inhibit it.

I dont have TPMS. I did buy those little metal valve caps with the porsche emblem on them.

Are you saying Porsche is selling parts you can't put on?

I imagine there are a lot of Porsche parts not applicable to the new models.

I just bought Beru sensor/valve from TireRack for my winter wheels and they came with metal caps......hope they work....???

My Jeep and Lexus have metal caps on their TPMS.

Just installed my winter tires this am. I have BSA 18x8 fr, 18x10 rr, Blizzaks LM-25, 235-40-18 fr, 255-40-18 rr with Beru tpms. The Beru valves came with METAL caps and are working perfectly.

The car sensed new tires and recalibrated itself once I entered that these were winter tires.

As soon as I can take some photos, I will post.
