Smile Very Expenseive Pile of Garbage!

Shot this out behind the Downtown Porsche Dealership. Just think how many thousands of dollars of worn out rubber is there.

Not to mention, most tires in tire piles aren't quite that wide either!

Can anyone identify all the different makes. I see some Contis and Michelins in there for sure.

Its strange how some look like they've some life left in them.

Many of them could be punctured and the owner came to the dealer for replacement.

True. Perhaps I should pick them up, and plug them.

BTW, I count about $7,000 worth of tires.

Good for high performance swings - the kids won't fall off if the temp is right and it's got a sticky compound!

That's not really that much. The last CART race in downtown Miami after the Firestone debacle had tire barricades made of thousands of slashed Firestone tires with the stickers still on them.

Do they charge a tire disposal fee in Canada? I don't believe they're supposed to just throw them in the trash in the US.

that trash pile is probably a reflection of how the shop/management runs the place - I'd stay away.

is that a P'car front right fender/headlamp in the bottom right of the first photo, next to the trash?

It's a provincial thing, just like in the States where it's probably state by state. Alberta has a return policy, where, if I bring in four old WalMart tires I get four new PS2's. Part of why we pay higher taxes (sorry, that's just BC, Ontario and Quebec, Alberta doesn't pay tax), get free daycare, free health care, free housing and all the food you can eat. The kicker is that we have to pay our heating bills and for bug spray. Being between Russia and the US we try to take the best of both systems.

I am surprised those tires are still sitting there. There is a huge market for used tires on EBAY and similar and some of those look fairly decent. There is always a similar pile at our local Porsche dealership and I am sure they welcome people come to take them away as opposed to having to pay for disposal.
