spacers

I just lowered my car with H&R Springs and wanted to get some spacers so that the wheels are flush with the fenders and not have any rubbing or vibration issues. I have 19" SportDesign Wheels, and on the Porsche website it says that the wheels are compatible with the 5mm spacers. Can anybody tell me (especially those with the same rims) what would be a good/compatible setup for spacers on my car? I have 235/35/19 front & 265/35/19 rear. I did a search through the past forum threads on wheel spacers and it looks like a good combo/setup would be 5mm front and 15mm rear. Can anyone comment? Thanks!

We routinely supply 4mm, 5mm, or 6mm spacers for the front and 10mm or 15mm for the rear wheels. Most of our customers request 6mm for the front and 15mm spacers for the rear wheels. All spacers require longer wheel bolts, because the addition of any spacer results in thread length loss with your original bolts.

I have the 5mm spacers on my sports designs on all four wheels. They came from the Dealer.

I can get you a picture of how they sit with stock springs.

What I really want to do is buy some 11" wide replica Sport Designs for the rear and run a 295 tire. I hear that you have to run a really large spacer (I think 14mm but I'm not sure).

I run 10mm spacers (and 295/30 tires in back) on my car. I got my spacers from Ralph, good stuff and pics of the install are in the Gallery currently and I'll do an article soon.

wheel spacers

Ralph,

Great meeting you today and thanks again for getting the correct wheel spacers for my car! It looks so much better now that the wheels are actually flush with the fenders...

Guys & gals on the board here, if you need quality wheel spacers Ralph is definitely the guy to find. He's a great guy and got lots of interesting stories to tell!

You might want to checkout the TireRack. I needed them for wheels I was buying from them. Called because some questions via web order weren't answer. Ended up getting the wheels at a discount price and the H&R spacers & bolts you a much much lower price than I seen elsewhere.

Is there any reason for or against running spacers on the track, especially from a safety perspective?

Spacers that are properly installed will not hurt you on the track, while they do add a little weight, they may also be placing your tires where they need to be so that they don't rub, etc.

another spacer question, getting 15mm spacers for the rear and have found 2 types of spacers, "bolt on spacers" where you use the standard wheel bolts to fit the spacer and wheel nuts to fit the wheel, and spacers where you use longer wheel bolts to fit both the spacer and the wheel.

Wich type of spacer should i get and why?

We make both of the "spacers" that you mention. For clarity, we call the one that is attached with your original wheel bolts, a wheel ADAPTER. The other one is a SPACER that is attached with longer wheel bolts. The 15mm spacer uses our 46mm wheel bolts. If you just convert the rear only, either one works, but if you want your front wheels to look like the rear wheels, we can supply matching chrome or black chrome wheel bolts for the front wheels. We also have matching wheel bolt locks.
