Break dust - new eplacement pads?

Guys,

which pad would you recommend for normal everyday driving, (non track days). Using "EBC Green stuff at the moment, although there is hardly any sign of dust, the pads dont feel 100% when you have to break hard, feels like the stopping distance has increased.

I'll be taking delivery of my new Cayman next month so just wanted to make sure I get the correct pads this time.

I've been quite happy with the oem brake pads for street driving. No squeal, good wear, fine performance and dust has not been excessive. Fom past Porsche experience I had a preference for the Textar oem brand (which I specify when ordering), but there may no longer be a difference since contrary to those experiences the Textars on my CS were ill suited for track use.

I checked all the suppliers we carry and no one makes a pad for the car yet.

With Brembo calipers I have found that Hawk HPS work well on the street with very little dust. If you want a more aggressive pad you can try the HP+ or if Axxis gets off there butts the Axxis Ultimate which is great for AX or aggressive street. But it's always a trade off between grip, wear, and dust.

I'm inclined to stay away from the Hawk HPS(+) pads. I've used them for track and street, and found the dust to be corrosive. Others have confirmed this. The brake dust eats into the finish of your rims unless you are extremely diligent about cleaning the wheels.

I also had rotor warping (or deposit) issues with the Hawk pads on a couple of occasions with brake setups that were running pretty hot. I ran the pads on an STi in both modes.

On my 944 S2 race car, both Pagid and Porterfield have been fantastic.

For street, I've been very impressed by the OEM brakes/pads for daily (and spirited) driving. I've seen other run OEM pads for heavy DE use without issues.
