Help me decide!

As some of you may have noticed, there is a RAC Monolite aftermarket wheel group buy going on (for a few more days) here on the forum. I think this deal is too good to pass up so I have opted to put my deposit in on a set.

The help I need is to decide on which color to choose for the main portion of the wheel. As I understand it, all colors will have a polish lip. The wheels are 18" and here is a photo of them:

My CS is black and is for the most part stock. I have a set of all black Boxster S wheels I use for the track. I like they way they look, but I have wanted a black wheel with a silver/chrome lip for a while now. After driving around with the all black wheels, I feel they leave the car looking a little unrefined or with a less classy look. As for my personality, I think I am more about stock and classy than I am about mean, lowered, modified to the max look.

So I (at the moment) think my best bet is the silver color as shown in the photo above.

But I like the gunmetal too (you can see all these in the RAC GB thread)!

The black with polished lip is pretty darn nice.

Before anyone says..."this is up to you, personal preferences, etc..." I KNOW, I KNOW!

I just thought a little input on your opinions of the three looks my help my decision making process.

What would you order? (I only have a day or so to decide!)

Thanks in advance.

Decisions, decisions!

Kevin,

Go with the all silver... Champion wheels silver looks awesome; has a titanium look to it. The gunmetal would look too busy with a black car, polished lip... it would be like a 3-tone car. Polished lip with black center would be my second choice, but you'd lose a lot of the detail of the spokes which is what makes the RS98 such an awesome wheel. So... go with all silver.

I'm a big black on black person, so I would choose the black with polished wheels.

I really don't think you could go wrong with either choice though. Great looking wheels on a great looking car.

Nice choice!

I have a silver s with black rims and a polished lip. I like the look. I think black on black with a polished lip would look sharp. The calipers would really jump out at you. Combine that with a clear engine cover and you are really talking

I think Suneet has the best point. Those wheels have a lot of detail which is lost in a black finish. I went the Champion website to look at some wheels, and I saw a wheel in black (I have done this on other sites with other wheel/car combos) and in the end the black wheels are always the hardest to review and really see. This may not be the case if one was standing in front of the car. Silver seems to be the winning choice. But man is this hard!

I think I have ruled out gunmetal for sure.

Hmmmmm.

Silver versus black wheels on a black CS is a tough choice. I think either would look good, but they'd give different looks. I have a silver CS, and chose silver wheels; then the second thoughts about gun metal came.

We only get to make the one choice. Maybe it's a good thing we didn't also get to individually choose wheel style, lip finish, diameter, widths, and offsets.
