Meteor Grey w/ black wheels???

I just purchased a a cayman in meteor grey (stone grey interior). I recently put the all red taillights and clear side lights on it and its beautiful. I am thinking, however, of painting my 18' cayman S wheels black. I have seen only 1 or 2 pics on this site, but they are not the great quality. What are peoples opinion of this combination? Please post pics if you have em!

Thanks

I've thought about doing the same, but black wheels seem to look best on the lighter and brighter colors, like white/silver/red/yellow...despite my own opinion I ordered a set of black CCW wheels which I'll post pics of in the week or two when they arrive.
They're track wheels and black just looks so good on the track, they also hide brake dust and rubber track boogers. Black disappears with the sidewall so 17" and 18" rims hide their size compared to 19".

I don't know about Meteor and black wheels. One of the combos that doesn't seem "right" to me, may have to see it in person though. What about Meteor wheels? I've seen a Meteor 997 with Meteor wheels......looked great!

Can you please post some pictures of your Meteor grey car with the red rear lights? I have the same color CS and wanted to see how they would look like if I put them on mine too. Thanks in advance!

Meteor on meteor? interesting. Any pics of it? I wonder if I could get a local shop to get there hands on the exact paint color or if I would have to go to a dealer. The black just seems so angry and ready to race. Hopefully someone will post some pics soon.

i think it may work if you are going for a black/grey theme - a more subtle contrast than on brighter colors. do you have other black trim as well? also, are you painting the whole wheel, or just accents (a la K-ManS?) black wheels tend to get lost a bit as it is more difficult to see shadows/detail. depends on what look you are going for.

You might also go for a silver hood crest and silver wheel crests.

My car is meteor gray. I'll leave my wheels silver but I'm one who leaves almost everything stock or OEM on my cars and on my bikes.

Last night's Top Gear showed a 997S with in what looked like Seal Grey with the Sport Wheels in black dragging a R8 for 1/2 mile (and the 997S won by 1/2 length).

IMO, the black wheels did not look good at all. There was simply not enough contrast. YMMV.

I have black wheels on my meteor grey CS, do a search under my username and you'll find them. Looks dark grey looks sharp with black wheels IMO.
