Volk TE37

I'm a little confused about Volk's TE37. From the Tirerack, Volk's TE37 is available in silver and gunmetal. However, from other vendors, Volk's TE37 specifically for Porsche is only available in bronze colour. Another thing is that the TE37 from Tirerack does not have the sticker that says "Rays Engineering" and "Volk Racing", but others do. Are they all TE37 ? Any difference in terms of make (country of origin) and weight ?

Don't know about the color but the grey T37 says RAYS ENG. in the edge of the rim at the top.

I've got the TE37's and they are just like the picture above. I don't know about the bronze color option, as I was told that they only were available in gunmetal. The "Rays Eng" name is forged right into the rim, but you also get a bunch of "Rays Eng" stickers (FWIW) to stick on the spokes when you buy the wheels. I thought the stickers were sort of tacky, so they never saw the light of day.

Just to share some info, for TE37, there are only 2 standard colour you can order, its bronze and white.
As for gunmetal and flatblack, all are custom colours u ordered from RAYS on a special basis, it will take ard 3 months for them to do in these colours.
From wat i know, all the Rays rims i ordered, RE30 and Te37, my TE37 cames with stickers in flatblack.
Just to add, you have to pay extra to get them in any colour but bronze and white

I don't know about the bronze, white or flatblack color options, because when I purchased mine last year (from Tirerack), I was told that gunmetal was the only color option - and I didn't have to pay extra for it. My CS is Basalt Black, so I only wanted the TE37's in gunmetal. Delivery was about 3 weeks.

How do you like them compare to the CS 18" stock wheels ?

mookie,

My original wheels were 19" Carrera S, which I still use for the street. I bought the 18" TE37's for track wheels, and I am really happy with them. They are quite a bit lighter than the Carrere S wheels and (I think) they look good with the black CS.

My only issue was that as soon as I changed to the TE37's for the track, I immediately started to melt my wheel weights - a problem I never had with the Carrera S wheels or the Victor Equipment wheels that I used as track wheels before the TE37's. Aluminum backed ductape solved the problem after 3 rounds of melting weights and re-balancing.

Mine 19" TE37's are grey and were not a special order - almost match my Seal Grey - just a flatter color.

Depends on the year and model too... I've had 2 sets (both bronze) but Tire Rack now sells them in black as well (the time attack version).

Rays has done various "limited edition" sets in the past in different colors as you mention.

boinkus,

I'm assuming that you got the 18x10 rear TE37s. Did you have to add a spacer for proper fit, or did they clear the stock suspension out of the box?
Thanks.

Zoomee,

My rears are 18" x 10", and they're installed with 7mm spacers - although I don't need the spacers for clearance reasons. I'm running 295/30R18's on the rears and there's good clearance with or without the spacers.

Thanks! I did some calculations (see my Math Check thread) and it looked like I would be okay. Just reassuring to hear from someone who actually has a similar setup.
