Rant on....Unlike many on here I have been happy with my Conti SportContact 2's on my CS. However, I have worn the rears down to the wear bars. So I go to get another set.....they have been discontinued..WTF? It would be easy to blame Continental for this but my CS is only 13 months old...Porsche used a tire on a brand new car that was in the process of being discontinued. This is a car that everyone knows uses rear tires at a 2:1 ratio to fronts, at best (and maybe 3:1 given the condition of my fronts). Completely irresponsible. I have been a Porsche owner for 9 years and a fan for much longer. I usually either defend Porsche or sit on the sidelines and say nothing when people complain about the high cost of options, maintenance, etc. During my Porsche ownership I have quietly choked down tire expenses as the cost of owning a sports car that eats through tires. I don't have a problem with this...however, replacing tires (the fronts in this case) that don't need to be replaced because I can't get matching rears has got me fired up!
Ok Rant off.
Does anyone have any 265/35 R 19 Conti's sitting around that they would like to sell?
If you can't find the right size CS2s, you could try the CS3s, supposedly the new and improved version of the CS2s. It will be a mixed set but at least it will be by the same manufacturer. If handling gets messed up, bite the bullet and get new fronts.
They didn't have them when I searched earlier or when I called them. However I just checked after your post searching the Conti tires directly and I founda 265/35 ZR19 XL (extra load) and are not N spec tires. These don't match the existing tires. But I am wondering if I would notice the difference. I know the N spec. deal is pretty much an unknow of whether there really is a compound difference between the non N spec.

...i just had the same prob .... the 265/35 R19 98Y are still around (94Y NO are totally not to be found) .... my guys at Orbit Racing recommended i put the 98Ys as the fronts had plenty of tread ... instead of replacing all four with Michelin PS2s, etc ..... they said the difference would not be perceptible ....
... so that's what i've done ....

I got a flat tire earlier this week (rear passenger side), and had it towed to the dealer, and they called me yesterday to tell me that my tire had been discontinued (I have 2006 CS OEM tires, I believe they are continental as well).
They located a tire for me on the east coast, and are having it shipped out here to CA. The car will be ready on Monday.
I want my car back!
The bright side is, I don't have to have my other rear tire replaced (the wear on the "old" tire is little enough that they will not have to replace both).

Good information to know and likely the best route at this point. does the load index of 98Y = XL? Tirerack was absolutely useless for this information. If so I think I can still get the 265/35 R19 XL's at Tirerack.

yup, just checked my tires......98y = XL (1609 lbs) .. my only dilemma was that these tires won't be covered by my Tire Warranty (as they are non N spec) .... but it was that or change all four prematurely for michelin ps2s .....
Did you buy a tire protection program?
The same scenario happen to me, The warranty program replaced the 2 rear conti's with PS2, and the service advisor somehow got continental tires company to pay for 2 front PS2 tires....Total cost to me $0.....
