Considering some Oakley Design Wheels....will these sizes fit?

They are:

9 x 19 et 53 Front
11 x 19 et 40 Rear

the tires suggested are

235-35-19 Front
295-30-19 Rear

Will these need spacers and clear the suspension?

Oh yes forgot to say they are carbon fiber and magnesium and weigh 14lbs a wheel!!

Nick,

Do you have the stock suspension or coilovers? That will be a big factor in fitment.

Over stock 19'' wheels you will have 9mm less inner clearance in the front, and in the rear 11'' wheels with OEM suspension you need 37-38ET; but if you have coilovers the rears should fit.

From their website it looks like they have a 987S fitment though. Do you mind if I ask how much? I've always dreamed of CF/magnesium wheels.

Without the coilovers, wll the addition of 5mm spacers work to increase the inner clearance enough?

Alan,

thats a great idea, albeit I think the rims are done to order. The sizes above are what they originally suggested but there was not discussion relating to if my car was running stock suspension or not.

If suneets' figures are correct the addition of a 5mm spacer will mean that the inner clearance is only reduced by 6mm from that of the stock 10x19 et 42 rears and the new offset would be 35 which falls in the suggested guideline.

It does however mean that the outer edge is now 20mm wider.

Oakley said that the offsets are custom made to order so if you have some good examples of what works without the coilovers that would be good also.

I am waiting for Oakley to get back to me on a couple of other things but will let you know if they have some rims there.

Alan, the big issue for you would be when you see them on your car and find out how light they are you wouldn't take them off your car

To answer an earlier question.... the cost for the set in GBP is .... (you need to sit down)...... 4800 pounds (Don't tell Ken but they can do the spokes in whatever colour you want.... including yellow!!!).... Yes dam expensive but they are worth the 30kgs off the unsprung weight!!!

If you wanted their 370mm brake set for your car they run at 2199 pounds per axle plus 260 for the pads.

Funny Alcon have finally requested my car to make a brake kit to "upgrade" the standard Cayman S rotors and callipers (originally they wanted it 18 months ago to do the same, they must now think that there is a market)
So I'm going down next week for them to look and measure....if there is anybody out there with any suggestions of what they would like to see, please post and I'll ask the question (I'm going to start a new thread to ask the same question.

I think your right Nick if I see the rims on the car................well !!!!!
Saying that I have rung John a few times, and as yet, not had a reply......The only time I have spoken to him is when he wanted to buy the Quaife diff from me !!

You are right they are dam difficult to call.... I mostly email and it's Michael that I am dealing with. I am still waiting confirmation on offset size for the 19x11 rears. When I get it I will see if they have one for you to look at but I know generally these rims are made to order.

There shouldn't be rubbing issues with 19x11 ET 37 if you can have them built that way, otherwise using a 5mm spacer to get ET40 to 35 might lead to rubbing but probably not with 295 rubber. I talked a lot with the user Herman about this when he got 19x11 turbo wheels put on with 14mm spacers (effectively Et37), and his car is lowered with H&R springs. He said he had a rubbing problem when he tried to go from 295 to 305mm wide tires and he took care of it by rolling the fenders. So 2mm wider track with 295 tires shouldn't lead to any rubbing on the outer edge; but if you can have them custom made, why not start out with an offset of 37 so that you don't have to add spacer weight.
