Talking What 19" tires have you switched to since Mich and others are on backorder???

Since the Mich. and other 19" tires are on backorder which tires and size have you gone with and how do you like them? I e mailed Jim at tire rack and he said we could use 275/35/19 and 245/35/19. I do not care about the N rating since I do not drive aggresivly or on the track. Curious in case I get a non repairable flat in the Mich. what I should put on. have any of you gone up in width? If so tire and cost. Thanks

A quick search uncovered this very recent thread on the same topic - you might want to take a read through it... there's also some others in the tire and wheel forum, too.

PS2 still on backorder, what did you all switch to?

Thanks beez,
I saw that post.
I was hoping to get responses to those that went the 275 and 245 size as opposed to the stock size and also only on the 19s. Also was hoping for some prices.
Sorry if the two posts overlap.

I'm switching to Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics I think.

050A is a good tire though if you can find any.

Don't recommend Dunlop or Yoko if you are coming from a PS2 or 050, you will be disappointed.

I bet PCNA have stock.... if they did not I would argue (assuming your car is still under warranty, and come to think about even if not) that you the customer shouldn't be expected to replace a tire to a non N rated tire nor indeed that you should be expected to replace all 4 to a different brand when you only need one or two tires.

You get the non- N spec versions of the PS2 and Bridgestone RE050A at Tirerack; some are BMW-spec... I doubt you will notice a difference.

The Goodyear Assyemtrics are great for 18'' wheels but the fitment is off for the 19'', the rear sidewall is too small... 275/30/19. I currently have that sizing on my car, 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear and trust me it looks a bit silly unless you have coilovers to equal the gap differential front to rear. The 245/35 fronts take up more of the gap than even the stock size, and the 275/35 have a 10mm more gap. In my opinion the gap is worth it if you want to run an ultra performance tire... I'm doing it again because I just purchased Falken Azenis in 265/35/18 instead of 265/40/18 (I'm switching back to 18'' rims), but for the standard max performance summer tires, I'd stick to the OE sized non-Nspec Bridgestone's or Michelins.

I've switched to Yoko Advan Sports - 245/35ZR19 and 285/30ZR19. Pretty close to OEM sizing and I really like the tires. Quiet and good grip, but I use them for street only. I switch to Yoko Advan Neovas (18") for the track.

I just today purchased as set of Bridgestone RE050A's 245/35 ZR 19 for the front and 285/35 ZR 19 for the rears. They were readily available and ordered through a local Firestone service station for $243 front / $303 for the rears each with no delivery charge. This made them cheaper than Tirerack!!

I have gone to 275/30/19 at the rear for the wider track but still staying with PS2. This is the recommended size by Cargraphic with 36mm offset. For me to complete the look, I need 6mm spacer with new spring or coilover. Check out the wheel section of www.cargraphic.de

I went to RE050 non-N spec. My salesperson at tirerack said if anything, they will handle better. (and he was not suggesting I get them until I asked about non-N spec, so there was no sales pressure, lol)

Ive been running them for a few days, no complains so far.

RE 050A PP, there are non PP versions. Great street tire, nice grip and slides predictably, does well in wet conditions also.

I bought the Bridgestone Pole Positions, 235ZR3519/275ZR3519 I think they grip better, they're cheaper and should last longer than PS2s. I only use them on the street. There are a ton of reviews on tirerack.com
