Morr Alloy Questions for Carlos - VS8

Carlos,

I wanted to post some questions for the benefits of those intersted in your VS8 wheels.

1. What is the final rear width that you have decided on (I prefer 10.5 or 11 to stay with an N spec tire 295/30).
2. I know you biuld your wheels to certification standards but I understand that testing is not completed yet, will you stand by your product in case of manufacturing flaw and replace faulty products? I know that misuse cannot be covered.
3. You stated 60 day for delivery but would like an additional 30 days leeway. Will you honor a refund if a total of 90 days are passed?
4. How do you want to take the deposit? Payal ok?

Thank you for your answers in advance.

I have had a lot of problems loading the site lately so I haven't been able to update the thread as much.

1. We prefer a 10" setup since it`ll increase rear track and will not induce understeer compared to a larger rear, however, if the majority prefer a 10.5" we can do it as well.
2. Our wheels are DOT SAE J2530 compliant and are tested against JWL/VIA standards. We have not had any wheel cracked in the past 3 years out of over 1,000 wheels. In the event a wheel cracks, it is considered a manufacturing flaw and we`ll replace the product.
3. If the total manufacturing production takes longer than 120 days, we`ll refund the total amount paid. We cannot guarantee a 90 day production with a refund since 90 days is the typical production lead time.
4. The deposits are sent via wire transfer. We`ll provide all the details with an invoice this week.

Thank you!

Carlos

I vote 10" so I can maintain a 265 rear. Both the Conti's approve a 10" and the PS2's approve a 10.5" (Although I think it will be too stretched).

The added weight of a 295 rear is not worth it IMO. Does anyone know the actual weight difference between a 265 and 295?

Update: I found the information on tirerack for 19's.
PS2 265 is 25 lbs and the 295 is 28 lbs

Good points. The flipside is that the wider tires would give the Cayman a more aggressive stance. Here's how 11" wide wheels (Strosek) look on the Cayman.

Thank you,
chris.

The inside of the wheel looks unfinished, like it just came off the cnc( which it might have) and the edges are sharp. The outside of the spokes have a nice chamfer but the area on the inside of the "redesigned" lip is sharp, the edges of the holes for the lugbolts is sharp, and as someone else asked....Why the little holes between the lug holes?

These are just questions I have to ask. Nice looking wheel with everything else.

It seems the chance of getting 18x8.5 and 18x10 is quite slim. No one seems to be interested in 18".
