Tire Rack Redemption

Any issues I had with Tire Rack have been resolved and their latest performance has made me a true believer. I needed tires and rear wheels for some upcoming track events because I could see that my 19" PS2s would not last the season as I had hoped. I like the larger wheels for everyday road use (they just look better) and so decided to go with 18" for the track since that size has more options, better availability and are less expensive.

Well, I spoke with Doug at Tire Rack on Wednesday and had the four tires and two rear wheels on Thursday morning. Fantastic job!! You guys are the best!!

PS: I'm trying the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric. If looks alone dictated performance these would be killer tires. I have a feeling that some of the DEs I'll be going to will be in the rain this year and have read that these tires have superior wet handling capabilities. I'll report back after I've put some miles on them.

Please do report back on the Goodyears. I'm also considering them. You probably already know that they did very well in TR's test against the RE050A, Conti Sport Contact 3, and Michelin PS2. Almost matched the PS2 in overall road rating, better than the PS2 in the high performance (track) tests in the dry, and better still in the wet; thus winning the high performance tests.

I <3 Tire Rack; I recently ordered a set of TPMS sensors and valves from Jim@tirerack, and they were on my doorstep the following day. Not to mention they were well cheaper than any other Porsche dealer quoted me (even the sponsors...).
