Question Black TPMS Sensor Valve Stem

Does anyone know where I can get OEM TPMS sensors with black valve stems?

Personally I don't really notice my valve stems are silver. Other people certainly don't cause they are looking at the rest of the car. If you are really bothered by it you could just spread your tire install over two days, take the tires off, remove the TPMS sensors and stems, bring them home, spraypaint them, and have them reinstalled the next day.

CheerIO, thanks for the reply! The shop I'm getting the wheels from said they have tried to painting the TPMS stems black, but due to tight tolerances, it always chips when they install them.

I've called a few places that sell TPMS sensors, and, apparently, black valve stems are not available for the system in our car.

I'll figure something out.

Masking tape + artist's brush + black paint + standard black plastic valve stem caps = black valve stems.

Now these comments are on my Turbo style wheels that are an option on the Cayman, but I do not see an issue with tolerances against the valve stem.

To me, in the first picture it looks like the stem itself is screwed in from the outside using the hex nut on the stem to hold the TPMS sensor on the wheel. It is not inserted from the inside like some other valve stems. Am I correct here?

The second picture shows the stem installed with at least a few mm's of clearance all around it.

It would seem completely feasible to me to take the stems aside, prime and spray them, wrap them with masking tape, carefully install them, and take the tape off. If need be touch up any areas with a squirt of paint in the cap and a brush. And then finish off with a black plastic cap.

I wouldn't try to paint them completely after they are installed as you will never get behind the stem in the recess.

With all this said. I think it is one of those things that only you will notice. Everyone who looks at my car is just in awe at an all black Porsche and no one so far has commented on my deviated stems.

The TPMS stems, with attached sensors, are installed from the inside of the wheel.

STLPCA is right. I just purchased a set from Tire Rack and watched them being put in.

Installation instructions from Beru:

http://www.beru.com/download/produkt...tung_tss_e.pdf

Cayman model is RDE-001, valve is the 43mm RDV-001.
