I just put on a new set of Toyo T1R's to replace my worn factory Conti's. My initial impressions are not that great. I dont notice any more noise but they seem to lack grip - i know they are new but I have put about 200 miles on them. What are people thoughts? Will they wear in more as I get more miles on them? Turn in does not seem as crisp and overall midcorner grip seems lower....is this just me?

Give it a little more time. The TR1s have good grip but are a very heavy tire. The Continentals are severly underrated imo.

I only have experience with RE050 and T1R(for a short period of time).

The T1R tire needs to be broken-in. The sidewall is soft and not asymmetrical, therefore turn-in would be not as good.

Interesting posts. Thanks for the info...I guess this is the learning process that takes place when venturing out and trying new tires!
