Tire blowout 2

Coming back from a wedding party last night, I experienced a similar blowout to smounics

I was going at 60-70mph and heard a huge thud. It was 3:30AM and the streets on the way back were dark. Turned out I went over a huge hole i never saw

Really upset that such a thing happened to my car, yet thankful I never lost control or hit anything.

So far the turbo wheel seems unharmed. After the thump, I parked right away and called road assistance to tow my car.

Assuming the rim was always covered by the tire during this whole issue, is it likely that I would need to have the rim replaced as well?

I need to wait a couple of days till I could get my hands on the proper tire. Unfortunately, they're unavailable in my country.

What a mood ruiner!

Is Syria a country for which Porsche offers the spare tire option?

Hehe, Syria doesn't offer 'Porsche' as an option yet. We're hopefully getting our first dealership/service center in the next 3 months. Closest dealership to me is the one in Lebanon, where I got my car from. I'll ask them about it though, thanks

I would have your tire shop check the trueness of the wheel on the balancer before mounting up your new tire. A blow sufficient to do in your tire may have bent your wheel.

Not so much, last time I needed a Potenza I had to ship it from TireRack from the US. When I called the bridgestone dealership in Dubai the indian sales person told me "sorry sir, but bridgestone no make this size" Hopefully you can find it there, if not check the brigestone dealer in Abu-Dhabi

Btw, I dont think you need replace the rim, just check it for damage!
