Apparently out of luck at Tire Rack for Winter :(

FWIW, it's that time and I was looking for a winter tire/wheel set for my 2008 CS.

Unfortunately, they're now listing the required TPMS sensors for our vehicles as "Not Available."

Jim, can you clarify? The web site mentions "Not Available" means just that, and in the process of being deleted from the catalog, not just out of stock.

Obviously without TPMS sensors, an alternate set of winter wheels is out of the picture.

I ordered my winter package last week, and was told the sensors would be in stock next week.

Thanks; I guess I'll give them a call and see what they say, as when they're simply out of stock they usually list an in-stock date (e.g. 10/31 now for the rear Pilot Alpin PA2s ) but don't list things as "Not Available."

Guys I cannot stress enough that if you don't click on the Tire Rack banner and order from their website by coming from ours we don't get anything from Tire Rack to help support the website. If this is a situation where it cannot be resolved just by using the website and you have to call, the PLEASE have the person who takes the order log our affiliate code into their system and in the call notes type in that your order came from this website. Our affiliate code is AV7. Thanks!

Well, I've got two calls to make then, one to Tire Rack and one to my local dealer to see how outrageously expensive Tequipment Part "987 044 600 10" is - "18" Cayman S wheels with Winter Tires (with TPMS sensors.)"

A web search found exactly one listing, at Don Rosen Porsche, for $4431.91.

Jim H assured me that the sensors would be in stock early October. When you place your order on the web site, they show up as "special order", rather than "not available".

Yes, Ken, I did click through the Cayman club link. It's the least I can do for ya .

The sensors are due into us 10/06. Still plenty of time before the snow flies.
If I can help just let me know.

Found that out once I went beyond the shopping car to the "place order" section.

I pulled the trigger (through the Cayman Club link, of course), so we'll see what happens next.

I like the fact that my "closest warehouse" is out of stock, so my snow tires and wheels will be shipping from Louisiana.

(Snow tires are also "special order" in Shreveport; who knew? )

FYI, you can get the sensors from a certain P-car delearship that sells parts at cost +15% for about $100 more than tirerack.

Just a quick update…

Got a confirmation call from Jim at Tire Rack this afternoon.

Among other things he corrected the wheels their website said were a match from 4 18x8 to two 18x8s and two 18x9s.

My order is now also scheduled to ship out of Indiana.

Once again big kudos to Tire Rack for being here, and for caring enough for their customers to vet each order to make sure the wheel/tire combos are correct, no matter what their web site automatically generates.

That's why this is my third or fourth (sorry, can't recall) winter package purchased from TR.
