Smile new cayman 08 and first

pick up my cayman S this thursday. fulfills life time dream. white with natural brown, bose, auto air, 6 speed manual, xenon, stainless exhaust tips, had 19s but dealer did a swap with someone now it has standard 18s adno more 19s to put back on it.

It looks like the 19s are more popular, is it a big difference in performance or is it mostly a personal preference. I would thing that the 18s are bit more comfortable and this is my daily driver so i though it may be ok. But I'm thinking of getting some 19s

opinions please

Welcome!

Lots of opinions on wheel size. There really isn't much if any performance difference between the two if any,.....it's mostly all about personal pref.

Some say 19"s feel a bit better on turn-in, while the 18"s are a bit more compliant.

I've driven both,.....the 19"s feel a bit stiffer, but not necessarily better IMO. The 18"s offer just as much grip (both 18"s & 19"s are the same width), a slightly better ride, and seem to be a bit more predictable at the traction limit.

Looks? The standard CS wheels look great IMO and match well with the brakes in terms of appearance. Both packages are about the same diameter, so neither one "fills" the wheel wells better than the other.

If your dying for the 19"s, get them!......If you think they are the performance boon other people make them out to be, you may be dissapointed.

More options / cheaper for rubber too if you plan on taking your car to the track with 18" wheels.
