For those who want to try the collapsible spare from older Porsches but have no place to then carry the flat tire/wheel would a mount similar to the Mower Axel plate holder work? It would have to have a plate sufficient to keep it steady and a bolt strong enough to hold the flat but with no other oblivious solution available it might be worth a thought. Since the mount is strong enough to allow towing of the Cayman you would think that it could withstand the weight of the flat tire/wheel.

Nice idea SF- the bracket could be made to suspend the wheel above the front plate on top of the bumper so as not to obstruct the headlights or front plate...

You would just look very funny driving down the road.
But an intersting idea.

Of course this would be emergency use only so looking funny until one could get the flat stored safely away might be worth it if this would work.
