Carrera Sport Wheel/Carrera S Wheels

I have 19" Carrera S wheels on my Cayman and am considering switching to Carrera Sport wheels.

The Sport wheels are 8.5" wide (f) and 9.5" (r), rather than 8.0"(f) and 9.0" (r) for the Carrera S wheels.

The wheels run the same tires. Does anyone here have experience with both wheel styles?

Thanks,

Larry

Wheels

I looked at the Carrera Sport wheels but found they were much harder to clean (not to mention more expensive) so I went with the Carrera Classics.

Got the Carrera Sport wheels (19"). They are more quiet than I've been led to believe by the chat on this site. They also are not that difficult to clean. They also stay clean as they are powder coated and require only detergent to remove the grit. I would not have opted for these wheels but the car came with them as option, and now I'm glad I have them. They are very good looking, IMO.

I love my Carrera Sport Wheels! I've had the regular Cayman S 18" wheels and purchased it from www.wheelsexchange.com They are not too hard to clean and at least in my view the look great.

F1, nice wheels! I will have mine installed in another few weeks, waiting for the weather to finally turn warmer here in Ohio. I ran with 18" Boxster S wheels for winter, they looked better than I thought they would. Your CS is seal grey isn't it, mine is Meteor gray and I think the Carrera Sports will look fantastic! I just ordered from Ralph a set of chrome lug bolts and locks, I see you have them as well.

I've ordered my '07 CS with the Carrera Sport wheels based on looks, but I'm wondering if there is any benefit to having wheels that are 0.5" wider than the other 19" wheels. Since the tires are the same size I wouldn't expect a performance benefit, or am I wrong?

Also, are the entire wheels powder coated? If so wouldn't that make the finsh more durable than clear coated wheels allowing me to be less concerned about ruining the finish while cleaning.

I chose the Carrera S because it's the lightest of all the the 19 inch line ups. I think the next lightest 19 inch is worth $1200 a piece from Champion. Yikes.
