Cayman deals ?

Hi guys im new here , and don't own a Cayman yet but plan on getting one soon . Ive decided to buy a nearly new Cayman S from an official Porsche dealer as don't want to wait months for a brand new one. Should I try and haggle over the price or will they be the same as on a new one and not give any deals ? also what are must have options ? and one more question 18" or 19" wheels ? Cheers guys

You could try to haggle for a '06 demonstrator, but they will probably not move much, indicating that the 'extras' have already been discounted -- remember extras do not count for much on re-sale values if you want a response.......

Well, if you see the threads where we are tracking the cars, you do not need fancy extras - buy a base model, and save the money for Power and Transmission modifications....

If you are not tracking it 19" wheels only with PASM otherwise the ride will be too harsh, 18" standard Cayman Wheels without PASM (and for track use)

Good luck with your quest and we hope to hear from you soon!

I would just say I tried a Cayman S demonstrator with 19" wheels and PASM and it was amazing. The ride was smooth even on rough B roads and yet sure footed when booted out of a junction and going several times round a roundabout.

If you are getting 19", I am having the Turbo Wheels, then I suggest PASM is a must for general comfort driving

For what it is worth; I have the 19" Sport Design wheels and they look great. I haven't got PASM (it was never really explained to me) but the ride is fine and I drive mostly quiet A roads - you do feel the odd bump though! Why not say what part of the country you are in and people may be able to recommend the sales staff they know - good / bad experiences. This may give you a foot in the door!

Do consider ordering new as you get to custom spec and get the PDE day which is fantastic, although it made me realise how average a driver I am!

Good luck!

My Cayman S is coming from the Bristol dealership, they have been very helpful, I made them show me both standard and Bose sound systems, listened to Sports exhaust on a car (not worth the money in my opinion) explained and showed the handling difference with PASM

You start with we won't discount its a porsche!
But if you push there is money to be removed.

Options that mean anything come resale, good paint colour, leather and PCM, all other options are more for you than for resale.

Remember the dealer paid about 3 - 4k less than the price they are trying to sell the car for, so getting 1k off should be possible.

Or you could take the view that it's your damn car and specify it the way YOU want.

The next owner can lump it or leave it...!

SS7
PS IMO PCM is a waste of £2k

I got my car through OPC Swindon too. I was very pleased with the service. They gave me the advice, help and most importantly time I needed.
