Oh dear, I've just done my first tiny mod to the car, and already I can feel the start of the modding bug biting. I removed the red light spears and fitted black ones, hardly a big job, but the car suddenly feels like mine now, simply cos it looks a bit different.
Anyone tried black air intake grilles on a red car?
Hi John
Was contemplating this mod months before buying the car! I think it looks more "Turbo" style, maybe.
Question is, did you buy new spears or re-paint the existing?
Could you advise what the cost implication is and ease of the mod?
My cars Meteor Grey, and looks great with black spears when I touch up a pic on Paint Shop Pro! I'm overseas again at the moment so can't experiment with black tape, etc.
Cheers
Dave

I bought a set of the spears from someone on this list (thanks Tess!) but I gather you can get them easily as a part in any OPC. They come in black plastic, so you can use them as is, or paint them. I think they are about £100 for a pair. They just clip onto the car, easy to do the second time, a bit more of a wrench the first time!
You could remove the existing ones and paint them, but probably better to keep them in case you want to put the car back to original later.
John The grills come in Black, Black or Black and from memory cost about 35 of your earth pounds.....allan
Thanks for that, very encouraging as I suspected they would be more than that. I deal in Scottish Pounds (which of course are more valuable that those south of the border) so I'll have to see if I can beat them down a smidgen!

Hiya
I was keen to try the black spears but I called into my OEM and they quoted me about £140 for them in primer - dont know if this is black or not.
Any idea if your price was from a Porsche dealer or another source?
Cheers
Dave
