Picked up a nasty scratch the other week on back bumper (God knows how?), have fixed with kit from paints4u and am quite pleased with the result. however, it isn't perfect. I could buy more supplies and make better but I am now tempted to take to someone has has the proper kit and let them to it. Went to spraymaster linked to OPC and was quoted over a grand - unbelieveable. Anyway it really just needs smoothing, spraying and polishing in by someone with a bit of skill and the right kit. Any ideas where to go, I am based in Wiltshire.
Hi mex , ive just had some work done on an Audi tt by a business called Motorama near Wroughton in Wiltshire . Not sure where you are based but its a few miles fron Swindon. He was very good and extremely reasonable , **** Lovetts quoted me £930 , he did it for £130 ! Or you could try someone like "car medic"
Cool , hope it works out for you , ive only seen one Cayman in Swindon , a silver one , might that be you ? Picking mine up on Saturday a Basalt black Cayman S , can't wait !
Just made the connection....sorry, weren't you looking at a Silver and swapping the SDs for Carrera sports?
Yes thats right , they got the car up from Bristol for me to look at , it was a real dog ! It was not prepared , dirty , stone chipped and the drivers seat was very creased , it didn't look like it had been cared for so I walked away .
I found the Basalt Black one at Porsche centre in Mid Sussex. It is only 6 months old and as new and has a very good spec . Pasm , Adaptive heated sports seats , short shifter , Bose and cd changer , full leather , sat nav and phone module , multi-function sterring wheel , dipping mirrors and rain sensors , bi-xenons , park assist , fully automatic climate , and leather edged floormats ! They also put Carrera Classic wheels on it with new tyres as I didnt like the wheels that were on it . It has 6000 miles on it and they gave me 6 months tax , full tank of fuel and wheel inserts all for only £50,000 ! Can't believe ive spent so much on a car , but can't wait to pick it up on Saturday will post pics when ive got it .
PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Midnight Blue with black interior, 18" Cayman S wheels, Xenons, partial leather, auto climate, Sound Package Plus and heated seats (had them on my TT and wouldn't be without them in Winter).
I'm hoping for Friday collection if possible as I'm driving from the South Coast to Bedfordshire and back on Saturday morning. So even if it is a Saturday collection, it won't be until the afternoon so I'll probably miss you either way. Never mind. Good luck with the Basalt S - sounds like a nicely specced car.
