Alarm

I have just ordered a new Cayman (base model) due for July build of '08 model. Whilst I am now well familiar that Porsche don't exactly furnish a comprehensive basic specification of extras, is it the case that the car does not even have an alarm? I didnt see the alarm option on the extras lists that I studied. I assumed that it was simply included. Please tell me that there is at least a factory fitted immobiliser as standard?! At 27, the insurers hit me hard...!

In the US the answer is yes. Take a look in the files section at the '07 Owners' manual for its operaton. In the UK I don't know so I'm moving this post to the UK forum so hopefully you will a better answer.

Hmmm, at least there is an advantage to being 37.... Sainsburys Insurance charged me £677 which is cheaper than my Honda S2000 which the Cayman S has replaced.

I know what you mean about the alarm, I had to ask the dealer when I picked it up, as I could find nothing about it.

Also my dealer had already increased the delay time on the key fob before handing it over because of the issue as known by others on this forum.
