Blade runner

A couple of quick questions for the technically knowledgeable amongst us:

Why does my Cayman 2.7 only have an aerofoil fitted to the drivers side windscreen wiper blade?
I assume these are to hold down the blade when doing high speeds, but surely one wants to see out of both sides of the screen?

How does one put full size pictures in these posts rather than attach thumbnails?
Cheers
Dave

The airflow acts differently on the 2 wipers since their paths across the windshield are different. The driver's wiper sweeps vertically near the side of the car where the air flows off the windshield & around the side of the car. The passenger's wiper sweeps into the middle of the car where the air flows mostly over the car. If there's one thing Porsche understands, its aerodynamics. Nothing on the car is overlooked in that regard & if you see an aero device, it has a carefully designed purpose.

Just to confirm "STLPCA's post above" above, my Honda S2000 which I have now just sold has/had exactly the same, an aerofoil on the drivers side only.

And I thought it was either a)a cost saving measure or b)keeping the weight of the car down to only the essential's

More to the point, why doesn't the Cayman have the new generation plastic wiper blades, instead of the rether old fashioned articulated metal ones. My VW Golf has these new style blades, and they are superb. In fact, don't Porsche fit these to the rear screen wiper?

The the photo question, you have to host the picture off site and tie it in with a URL, or upload it to the gallery section, and again embed a URL in the post to make the picture show up.

Yup, rear wiper is the new generation floppy plastic type - we've got a new motorhome (Fiat based) and even that's got the new wipers on the front and they are great.

Hey Vladie22 - not sure our motorhomes come close to comparing to your RV's! There are some at our race meetings and they are huge, I think the triple slide-outs are my favourite. Our's is a smaller european model based on the Fiat Ducato van, around 25 and a bit feet long. Not sure how to make it a clicky link.... Swift Kon-Tiki - The Ultimate Motorhome Range Even without a slide-out we are very pleased with it.
