Diamondbrite

Does anyone have any experience of the Jewelultra Diamonbrite paint protection process ? I'm thinking of having it applied to the Cayman, evidently it protects the paintwork and is guaranteed for 6 years.

Sounds like the same scam with a different name in the U.S. - see the Cayman Care section of the Forum for more details.

Hey,

I've always had Diamondbrite treatment and its been great, it makes cleaning the car a lot easier aswell.

I had my Cayman DiamondBrited on the day it arrived (at the Dealership) and paid the guy directly, it only cost me £150 and that included the upholstery protection aswell.

I'm not sure how good the Upholstery protection is, but the paintwork protectionhas always been the best I've seen in years.

You would have to use thier own shampoo to wash the car and then their conserver which is applied to a bucket of water and then applied onto the car with a cloth/sponge and it clear waxes as you clean with no residue.

What your doing is building up the permawax everytime you clean the car which helps reduce the severity of stonechips and stops the paintwork fading aswell.

have a look at http://www.jewelultra.co.uk/home.htmor email on diamondbrite@jewelultra.com

and they should put you intouch with an area representative and they shouldn't charge more than £150!

Good luck....

Sorry guys I don't cut corners and even though it is cheap, I've always had this treatment done by an official DiamondBrite rep, and if done properly and it's not expensive and if you look after it it's great. You must wash it with the correct solutions which are not expensive.

If some people who think that it doesn't need washing properly after the treatment or looking after then they maybe are looking for a miracle cure.

I recently sold a 4 year old AudiTT225 and its paintwork was immaculate and had never faded (yes it was treated with the treatment) and I did look after it, it made washing easier and a joy, even the alloys were a joy to wash the dirt just lifted off! just like it does off the Cayman now! and because the paintwork had an elastic perma wax I never had a single stonechip in 4 years either - though they don't guarantee that - I thought that was remarkable.

But I understand that for every positive story there will be a negative one, but I for one don't want to be waxing my car the old fashioned way when I have something that works for me.

I have a guy who runs a car valet company nearby and even he likes it.

I've also tried supagaurd and several others and they have been terrible. I investigated the technology behind Diamondbrite before using it- it is not the same as some of the rip offs that some people try andgeneralise upon as paint protection treatments do generally have a bad reputation.

And I agree If you have the car treated professionally and properly to begin with (it took 3 hours to prepare the cayman) then you should care and look after it yourself - which takes time if you want the best out of it - there is no miracle cure it is an art.

Thanks for the feedback on this issue. I've done a bit of research and it seems there are mixed results. Even the salesman from Stratsone's suggested that he had mixed feelings on it. Anyway, I've decided not to go with the treatment, one thing that put me off is that you can buy the kit from eBay for between £15 - £25 which tells me that it isn't even an expensive product and they quoted £300 to apply it. This screams RIP OFF to me, so I'm going to invest in some Zymol and a Clear Bra kit which is being fitted on Monday - delivery on March 1st. Can't wait !

. . . it's a 2 part wax and is as simple as that. Got some from my friendly Ford dealer (yes they flog it there too for some ridiculous price) and tried it on a new car of mine once, definitely not as good as using Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection after Autoglym Super Resin Polish or of the same quality. Your just paying for someone to apply it and it's really cheap as chips and some lay claims to it protecting against stone chips and the like, what a scam and was told likewise by my friends who worked there. All depends if you can be bothered to 'wax' the car yourself. (incidently wax shouldn't go anywhere near your paintwork for the 1st year at least or any abrasive 'wax' for that matter just some sort of silicone or full carnuba wax with zero abrasives as you're just protecting and not trying to remove any ****)

My Porsche Center offers the Autoglym treatment and it would be a far better product but as we discussed that's nothing new just the standard quality products applied by someone else. I'll look after my own thanks very much! ;0)
