Porsche Driving Experience Invite Arrived

Got my invite through the post this morning shame my car isn't due until June (or May).... Still, it all adds to the anticipation, although I get the distinct impression I should have shopped around the dealers a little more to get an earlier slot. I tried Wilmslow and they quoted October and settled on Sheffield who said June (possibly May) - and that was in December....

Anyway, looking forward to it arriving and a trip to Millbrook once I've got some time in the car under my belt.

Hi Guys

If you can't handle the wait, why not come along to one of the meets we have planned? I'm sure you'll get a couple of offers to take you out for a spin.

Don't think we could get a group discount or anything though......i didnt just say porsche and discount in the same sentence did i?...oh, no i didnt....

Red, I don't think I'll be able to make the jaunt state-side for a PDE!! You might want to try and arrange it with some other fellow Americans, though.

Unless you are really from the UK, not Charlotte?? Or even both??

Hey let me know if anyone's going on the PDE on 9th March as I've just booked in for that morning - should be fun...

Ps. Hatfield Porsche Centre have moved to an extremely large purpose built centre and I heard from their sales team that they have the largest allocation of caymans in the country - theyre about 25miles from london and I'd recommend giving them a call if you want earlier delivery - you may be lucky.

It was mentioned that the more and more caymans are being ordered and the waiting lists are getting longer by the week.

wahey, my PDE invite arrived today, gonna book at Millbrook for sometime in late April as I am expecting a May delivery and I want the experience fresh in my mind.

Anyone know what the attitude is towards bringing ones wife along to one of these days - as a spectator?

I thought i'd post this nice piccy of the Millbrook proving ground - one of 3 sites where UK drivers get their PDE. The big circle is the speed bowl and the twisties in the south-west corner is alpine circuit. Photos courtesy of Google Earth.

Enjoy!

Ah, brings back memories

It would be impossible to take someone with you to spectate, and to be honest there wouldn't be time. You too and frow from the Hill route, to the mile straight, to the bowl, and back again, several times, plus a few hot laps on the inner bowl circuit thrown in for good measure.

The hotel is nice, and the food looked very good, but from the hotel to the venue is in a Caymen, so she may have to fit in the boot!!
