Still Alive!

Hi Chaps!

Just to let you know that I am alive and well - and in sunny Bahrain! I moved here 5 weeks ago and will be here for a good few years. My cayman is garaged up at Parr near Gatwick and under the knife again. It is in the process of having the cargraphic catback (black tips) and sachs dampers installed. I had the air plennum installed in December but did not drive the car yet. By all accounts it should be a fantastic driving machine when I get to drive it May when I come home for a week. You wouldnt believe it but a new GT3 costs 52k pounds here....and the cayman costs 26k pounds...just dont think about it! My colleagues just had 911's delivered - a turbo, S, and GT3...its very tempting at those prices. And wait for it....fuel costs around 4 pounds for a full tank. Its hard to believe isnt it. Ive been a sad git and just got myself a Volvo XC90 V8..not that I like it but at 30k its a whole lot of car for the money.

Well chaps, I hope to see you out on track at some point soon. I will be home 1st week in May and will try and get a day in. My cayman started to eat GT3's at the end of last season and with the new mods it should be on fire this year. I cant wait to get out there. For now I wish you all well and look forward to catching up soon.

Adios

Good to hear from you Terry. Sounds like you are enjoying yourself

And to make things worse, I presume you're going to tell us you're getting paid twice as much, for half the work, and all Tax Free, AND it's sunny all the time?? Git.

But with a choice of cars at those prices, getting a Volvo!! Come on mate...............pleeeeease............

I understood that if you have 12 months residency you can bring a car into the UK tax-free as part of your possesions so long as you've owned it for at least 6 months...?

Just a thought

Don't tell Terry That...........

At the prices indicated I can feel a GT3 RS Coming Home..............

And we Don't want to be anywhere on the track, with Terry driving one of those...............

On Second Thoughts.......... What about a RUF Cayman Turbo then? And you have the Bahrain GP Track to practice on!

Karel, It's a Supercharger on the RUF not a Turbo.

I'm Sure by the time Terry Specs his RUF Cayman - it will have a TurboCharger - to obtain the extra HP needed to get above 550HP..... What do you Think?

I tried to import my cayman here because the costs would be covered by my company...unfortunately right hand drive cars are BANNED in Bahrain...can you believe that! You guys have any new mods planned for this year? Im sticking with my cayman - after driving (and spinning!) my friend GT3RS I can honestly say that the cayman is so much more fun to drive - especially when you get to burn off GT3 drivers who are to damn scared to drive their cars the way they should be driven. Its the best feeling in the world...overtaking a GT3RS at Brands Hatch on a Saturday morning. Yeahh...

Terry, I am sure the Right Hand drive Cars are banned to stop cars coming over from the Indian Sub-Continent..... (You can imagine why)

Allan and I are awaiting the Softronic Porsche Race Plenum and enlarged Throttle Body....... Official Porsche Parts and Softronic Tuning (The bigger Throttle Body should produce much more power than the Plenum you Installed!)

I'm getting a Race Seat, courtesy of Allan, so will need a Harness Bar/Harness. Also got the Cayman GT Side Strips (like the GT3's have) and Cayman GT Sign for the back. Also bought 'P4 CGT' Number plate from the DVLA for £250 all in..... (Others similar still available, from the DVLA........)

Allan is tarting the Silver Bullet up with Wings/Splitter, Mesh Grilles everywhere - He's copied my suspension set up, Allan has really taken this track stuff very seriously, and you should see the smile on his face! He still is using full slicks on the track.... Perhaps that is the next step for you as you get yours trailered there now?

And watching you at Brands Hatch, messing with the GT3 driver's brains by passing (could be a mis spelling?) all over them......... Was a delight to behold....

Are Parr continuing development with a Cayman of their own, now that they have used you as a test piece?

Have fun in Bahrain.................
