My Predicament on Exhaust!!!! like my tailpipes

This is a picture of the exhaust tips on my 2.7 Cayman.

Now me and my friends are organising a blast from aberdeen to the nurbergring this september. I will be the only Porsche, the other cars are Civic typeR stature etc....etc....

I want a better noise, but dont want to

a) Loose the looks of my current tailpipes
b) sound rubbish and drone

Has anybody experience and/or advise on what i should do?? Details of where i should look and pay??

I want a lovely deeper sound (Ferrari-esque), my favourite is the note from the Borla, however i dont want to loose the look of the exhausts i currently have.

Is there an intake that would also allow a deeper grunt, i dont require any performance gains, but if a few bHP appear i will not complain.

Thank you in advance

James

I know the AWE exhaust allows you to keep your stock tips if you want to, and I think there may be a couple of other brands that do as well.

You could try a Tubi Italparts they let you keep the stock pipes although i have one with the standards pipes.

I think the Borla has the same tips as yours!

I too have the chrome tips and love them. I just picked up the remus exhaust and the tips are very similar. I have not had it installed because I am trying to coordinate a dyno day with Farnbacher with the exhaust install for the benefit of myself as well as members here. I am hoping that the look is similar or I will be pretty upset and will be selling a remus exhaust If I like the look keel a heads up for my chrome tips to go on sale here.

The fit is still the same for the chrome OEM, they are still "stock" i.e. not aftermarket.

Here is a picture I grabbed from the caymanclubs Remus sponsors site, they look damn close to the Chrome stock imho.

So really the Borla is going to be my answer, how much would it cost to get one into Britain. Im totally unsure how i can do the exhaust keeping my current tips, i had just thought of putting a remaining system in from the manifold downpipe.

Those are stock, they are factory "sport" tips and they install EXACTLY the same way as all other Boxster/Cayman tips install.

Whats wrong with the Tubi option, they'll fit your existing tips.

Borla is a great system from an engineering and performance standpoint but if you get the larger tips it drastically changes the look from the stock chrome ones imo. I really don't like the way the larger tips look on the Cayman. If you like the stock chrome tips like I do I would get the smaller tips with the Borla Exhaust.
