I've had my Cayman for a week now and I'm thrilled to bits with it. Really can't stop smiling everytime I get behind the wheel.
My previous car was a TT, now I'm not going to knock the TT because I had almost 4 cracking years of driving with it, however, this new baby is something else.
Anybody fromEast Anglia on herewho I should be keeping my eye out for?
Hi SP,
Not from East Anglia but welcome anyway. So it seems that the Autocar predictions of drivers coming from TTs is coming true. You are not the only one.
Never drove a TT myself, but coming from a 330iSport the difference is massive. This is a truelly great car. Only today in the Independant motoring section the Cayman S was quoted by many as being the best Porsche road car ever built. Good times......
Good times indeed. I'm smitten with this car. I'm just looking forward to being able to use the next 4000 revs!
To be honest, I had a real struggle finding a replacement for my chipped TT. Some cars would offer better driving like the 350z for instance but then it would lack in quality.
I can't see me ever having any regrets at spending £50k on this little beauty.
Welcome SP ! I've had my car for one week and I'm amazed at how good it is. I'm using pretty much all the revs, the salesman said there is no run-in period, but don't hold it at high revs for too long. The handbook doesn't mention it all, only saying to avoid short journeys ! The noise over 4000rpm is fantastic, even my 12 year old daughter wants me to rev it harder ! Every time it starts to growl, she just laughs out loud !
Sold my TT QC and waiting for my Cayman . . . I should be picking it up next Saturday . . . one week to go . . . can't wait

How short are the journeys I should be avoiding? The five miles to work is sufficient distance I hope.
As far as the revs go, maybe I should just start opening her up then.
I just think that if the oil and water are up to temperature the car should be OK. I guess running the car and stopping it before it's reached operating temperature is not good, but that is easier said than done !

I also come from a 225 TT sold it two weeks ago and now have to drive a bloody yaris until my cayman comes in may!!!
I sold my Cayenne within a week of putting it up for sale leaving me with 5 weeks car less. Had to rely on the Bus and borrowing a car so count yerself lucky fella!!
That smiling just keeps on growing. After 2 months now I am more excited than ever. I look forward to 4pm, not because it is time to go home, but because I get to drive my car.
Russ, I've got a business trip starting tomorrow that is going to keep me away from my car for 12 days!!!!! I'm getting the DTs already and I've not even left yet......
