Hi Guys

Well I bedded my new non N rated tyres in and the handling with these tyres is effing terrible! The car used to be so "planted" and stable - when up to 90-100mph the back end seems to be fighting for grip! Obviously this is done off the public roads!!!

I had the opportunity to run the car around a track and I am amazed at the the difference in not using the Bridgestone N rated tyres.

I have contacted Kwik Fit who replaced my tyres and told them that I need two new front tyres AND the rear tyres replaced with proper Porsche approved rubber.

I also was shown this web site from a post on another forum which might explain quite a lot!

Thanks for the info and you experience _tone_....I'm just a lazy so and so, as I've left my Pirrelli Corsa Track day tyres on and have used them sparingly on the road...a little harsh on the ride but what the heck!!

Can you let us know the full details of what tyres you got Kwik Fit to put on your Car?

One thought which occurred to me is what stance would the insurance company take if the car was involved in crash, say after a blowout and the car had tyres on which were not N1 rated ? Could they refuse to payout ? I wouldn't like to risk it......

The Tyres I buy (not N Rated) have:

Higher weight loadings = 95 versus 91 (on the factory fit Michelins)

And the same Speed Ratings Y = 186 MPH

Assuming you drive on the road where the insurance is valid - the maximum speed you can do is 70 mph.

The tyres are the same or better specification, no insurance company could refuse a payout - Porsche just does a marketing cross link to recommend Bridgestones or Michelins......
