Have an unmendable puncture in my 18in rear Bridgestone. My local supplier has quoted me £180 to replace but he cannot actually get any from anywhere. They are not is stock and there is no date from Bridgestone to supply them.
Having to get 2 Michelin's at £250 each.
Anyone else had replacement tyre problems?

I just had two new rear 18" tyres fitted - could not get N rated tyres at all!
So I had to make do with non N rated - spoke to local OPC and they were unable to obtain any N rated tyres either and said there was a 3 month lead time!
Try approaching your OPC. There are numerous stories of them replacing all 4 tyres (or sometimes 2) for the cost of just one, due to the shortage.
Worth a try.
This looks like the road my OPC is going down. Got a rear puncture at the weekend (only 2000 miles in...) but the dealer is having trouble sourcing a Bridgestone (they have head office on the case). They suggested the "buy one, get three free" option, but not sure what make that would be.
I guess they never really banked on the state of the UK roads popping tyres all over the place when deciding on their "just in time" policy with N-spec tyres!
Well, that's 4 new 19" N-spec Michelins on, just because there don't appear to be any Bridgestones anywhere! Fortunately I was only charged for the punctured one. Don't know what OPC Aberdeen is going to do with the 3 slightly worn Bridgestones...
I was quite surprised by one line on the invoice though. £24 for "compressed air". And I though petrol was the most expensive fluid I was putting in the car! I reckon I might be looking for non N-spec tyres (complete with free air!) next time...
I have the same issue trying to find 2 Michelin Pilot Sports 265/35 ZR19 N1. Contacted Costco who said there aren't any in the country and they don't know when they will get anymore. Kwik Fit can't find any, nor can my local independent dealers. Not to keen on OPC as they're going to rip me off ! As it is Costco are quoting £266 each which is £30 more than they quoted a few weeks ago. Any ideas ? Also, what's the point of Porsche working with tyre manufacturers if the same manufacturers don't make the tyres ?
OK this is what I've found out. None of the on-line companies My Tyres, Black Circle etc have any Michelins. I mailed Michelin to ask them what was going on, they replied "We would advise that the Pilot Sport PS2 size 265/35 ZR19 N1 is an out of stock item at this moment in time with no dates. However, we would always advise staying in contact with your local Porsche dealer, as they have their own network of Porsche dealerships throughout the country, which could possibly source a pair of tyres for you."
So I rang Porsche Chester and they told me that there has been a supply problem for the last 8 - 9 months. Continental have stopped manufacturing N rated tyres, which meant people were buying Michelin and Bridgestone. It sounds like Porsche have been exposed and bought from 'outside the country' all the N tyres they could find. The guy at Chester said in the past they have had to provide hire cars to people with a puncture because they couldn't replace their tyres !
So he has ordered me a pair, but he had had to quote my registration and DOT number from the tyre BEFORE Porsche will release the tyres to him. Of course they are £220 more than Costco, and it didn't matter how much I bitched he wouldn't reduce the price.
So chaps, we're pretty well over the Porsche barrel, so drop your trousers and prepare to be f.......d.

Forget it - go talk to a tyre specialist and understand the higher qualities of cheaper products - then go visit Cheap Tyres Discount Tyres & Japanese Import Car Parts Spares Tuning Performance :: for the best prices delivered - go to kwikfit (or your local tyre dealer) and slip the guys there £20cash to fit and balance the tyres - mid morning midweek is best.
I run Toyos on my Cayman and 3 other performance cars in my family - Outstanding performance..........
Ask Tess who ran my Toyos at Oulton Park. Also Reported in Porsche Post.

Oops, I saw the thread and thought I chime in. I did not realize it is a UK thread. I am just a regular customer as well with no affiliation in auto industry.
Please point me to the reviews because I look hard for it before I purchase the T1R. The tire dealer gave me 500km test drive and would allow me to return it less mount/dis-mount charges. I put 200Km on it and decide it is not my tire.
For me, the T1R has a mushy feel and turn in is not as good compare to the Bridgestone RE050.
I am not the only person saying this. If you google the Toyo T1R soft sidewall you would see what I mean.
