Don't be too sad for me I am trading to a facelift 997 C2S in Sept so not too bad!!
I think your price is a little low - well specced higher mileage 2.7's are selling for £35K+ at dealerships - so should see £32K from the dealer. (Rule of thumb - they like to make 10% / at least £3K) The yellow may unfortunately have cost you a grand and the only real option you can get money back on is upgraded wheels and PCM.
Private sales are looking around £33K - if you can find someone with the money!
Thanks for the feedback - I am not too worried about value - I was overjoyed to be getting a Porsche in the first place so when I specced it - Yellow was the only colour for me and I only got the Porsche Sound Upgrade and 18" S wheels. I left the rest - although do wish I had got auto air con, sports steering wheel, cruise and xennon lights!
I got the car for the drive and its that what is important for me though having had a really good trip in a 3.4S thats a must have next time around.
C2S - well that is a lovely upgrade - I wont feel too sad then!!
Darren, I think your being a bit optimistic with £32,000. If your going to take it to OPC Swindon, then it will be the same guy who valued mine being a Lovett's dealership.
My car... Cayman S

For trade-in against 997 tt they would give a bit more.
Jury's still out regarding whether to change or not.
PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust System
The acoustics of this dual-mode sports exhaust system are dependent on driving style, ranging from standard output during normal road driving to a more aggressive tone during performance use. Modes are selected using a button on the center console (or ‘Sport’ mode button on vehicles with optional Sport Chrono Package/Sport Chrono Package Plus).
Introduction planned for 04/2007. Some models may require additional components. For detailed information about this product, please contact your Porsche dealer.
Part no. 987 044 200 00

Maybe Rich - but I'll see - I can't get too uptight about it to be honest - the C2S will be great and I'm not going to let my fun be spoilt for a couple of grand.
I'm keen to try the private market to let someone get a good deal - my car will be serviced and cleaned by the OPC then put on the forecourt +£4K!! I'd rather someone else had that money!
Anyway far more interestingly - buy the turbo!! Orders now have the upgraded touch screen Nav and iPod connection, plus in non facelift guise you are certain of the professional grade engine. DFI and PDK will come for the turbo in a year or so but 480hp and 620Nm of torque is plenty. I really couldn't go beyond £80K for the very well specced C2S but if I'd had an extra £20K I would have gone turbo, (very little to add on in terms of spec)....unfortunatlely I had to buy a new kitchen too to be allowed the car!!
Next car in 4/5 year will be 998 (or whatever they call it) turbo.
Are you speaking to Emma at Bristol?
DFI
Direct Fuel Injection (DFI), is a new technology that Porsche states can cut fuel consumption by up to 15 percent, while increasing power by up to 13 percent. DFI cuts emissions by warming up the catalytic converter more quickly, and ensures a sharper throttle response. Better for your right foot - and the planet, then.
DFI allows much more precise measurement of fuel supply and injection at pressures up to 120 bar; it has numerous combustion modes, with different cycles for cold-starting, low-speed driving and performance driving.
As the name suggests, DFI injects fuel directly into the individual combustion chambers, instead of the intake manifold. The injector valves have an electromagnetic mechanism that controls each injection with astonishing precision, while a high-pressure pump provides the necessary pressure—up to 1,740 psi—to accompany the rapid fire of the fuel injection.
Precise geometry of the injector’s position and its spray pattern is a key factor in helping to improve power, torque and emissions of the engines. The specific placement of the fuel as it enters each chamber creates a swirl that improves the air/fuel mixture, and therefore the overall combustion process.
At engine speeds up to 3500 rpm, a double-injection process is used. In this mode, the required fuel volume is delivered in two successive injections per working stroke. The resulting benefits include faster catalyst warm-up and increased torque in the upper load range.
By forming the air/fuel mix directly in the combustion chamber, DFI contributes to engine cooling. As a result, it is possible to increase the compression ratio and with it the power and efficiency of the engine.
The direct injection process is continuously adjusted. The engine management system reads changes to throttle inputs and performance requirements and, as you drive, the air/fuel mix is monitored and adapted as required. Oxygen sensor circuits within the exhaust system provide accurate emissions control.
What use is a new kitchen when you will be out on the road driving all the time? Would it not be better to spend the extra on the Turbo, forget the kitchen and use the Turbo to visit all the eating houses in the area and beyond - hence kitchen not needed at all?!
Probably going to keep ours for a bit longer. I don't know Emma at Bristol - I know Jeff best, who is very good.
I would agree that Jeff is a great guy to discuss new cars with at Bristol. Had a good chat with him on Saturday.
Mex99 I know you are all specked to go now, but I had a look purely out of personal interest at specking a C2S on the website, came out at about 80,000.
Then I realised for about 81500 you could get a GT3.
Certainly made me think if I went down that amount of money route, as you would have substantially more horsepower in the GT3
Starlight - you have a point re the GT3 but if a 70K C2S specs to 80K then an 80K GT3 specs to 90K - at that price you may as well have a turbo....its a vicious circle!!
For me anyway the purchase is motivated by needing rear seats for my two kids - hence GT3 isn't an option!
