Picked up my Cayman S last night - lovely car and great to be in one at last!
However, and to set context having come by way of a BMW M3 CSL, I am looking for a little bit more noise from the exhaust and also induction if possible.
Am most interested in the Milltek as my main requirement is to ensure no resonance or booming on part-throttle as most of the journeys we do are motorway cruising.
Reading through the posts, there are reports on header and cat failures and that only the cat-back option is available at the moment.
Have there been any updates as to the root-cause and when these issues will be resolved? Also, is it possible to fit 100/200 cell race cats to the standard OEM headers?
I assume that fitting the exhaust will not invalidate the overall extended warranty of the car?
Anyone recommend a fitter near SW London? Any experiences of Paramount Performance in Slough?
If you are just going for the Cat Back - The Milltek is great - I do not think that there is the possibility to fit different cats into the stock headers - Maybe try another manufacturer..........
As for fitting:
Northway Porsche by Aldermaston train station (South of the M4 Reading - opposite to the Porsche GB HQ and all Porsche trained Mechanics - ask for Paul or Ray)
As for warranty............ You can always swap back for the originals........

I am not sure about this. Spoke to my dealer about the possibility up upgrading the brake hoses and brake fluid on the Cayman S and they said they would not touch the car if it was not fitted with approved Porsche parts
Anybody have some actual experience with a Porsche dealer and servicing / warranty issues with after market kit fitted
James....My experience with OPC's, is as follows: If the None Porsche part fitted is relevant to the warranty claim (i.e. I've fitted a none Porsche exhaust and I have a problem with the exhaust) then they will not look at it. On the other hand I have a none Porsche exhaust fitted and my radiator has a problem then no problem. You'd also be advised to build a relationship with the service manager of your choice OPC, for these small problems. (Obviously NOT the one you’ve spoken to, as he sounds like a ar$e)
I also think "In Law" that if the part fitted has nothing to do with the claimed part. If they refuse to do the warranty work you could not only sue them for the warranty work but also for the time etc and inconvenience.
Most of us have None Porsche parts fitted ...from Non Porsche Brake fluid, None Porsche brake pads, None Porsche flexible SS hoses, None Porsche rear differentials, none Porsche exhausts etc etc...My warranty work has always been completed with a smile, and not a hit of a problem. If it’s of any help look on the site for how the Americans view warranty, and if you want a Milltek PM me, as a sponsor of the site we have them available at a good price to members..!! or dig around here: Motordrive Seats CaymanClub Group Buys

I've just had my Cayman re-mapped and Milltek'd by the very helpful Simon at

He's a very good guy. I've not had chance to extend the car et - but your main objections, the same as mine, re noise, bumps and bangs etc on motorways or commuting are fine. It's a gnat's louder, but I like the sound and I'm expecting a lot more mid-range energy which is what I think the car lacks compared to a 911.
I am based in London too and would really like to hear your Milltek (and if not too cheeky - to blag a passenger ride in one) before I take the plunge.
Will buy you a pint or two for your troubles!
Let me know and I'll drop you a PM with contact details if I can tempt you.

I'm in Docklands - get in touch if that is convenient. I've now had chance to extend the Cayman post exhaust. What a difference! There is far more real world "out of roundabout" performance. Feels a lot more like a 911! Sounds good too. Much meatier but not hooligan loud to piss of people in the village. More importantly to me it's not a pain on a motorway and the guys at AMD - see earlier post above - did a great job fitting it with no rattles and bangs. Have to say, as someone whose last attempt at "tuning" a production car was a 1650 Cortina in the 70s, I'm delighted with the investment.
