New Cayman S Owner

Hello

I'm new to the Cayman but have had various sports in the past

When driving 120+ do you find the steering is a bit tetchy? I'm wondering if it's the tyres tracking the road surface or something else

Reason why I ask is because at 120/130 my previous cars were not as tetchy!

Thanks

Gosh, if you don't think the steering is a lot better than a BMW your Cayman is horribly faulty!

The steering/handling is a hell of a lot better

Maybe im not used to the precise handling/road tracking...it does turn in very sharply with any movement.....and I was doing 130 around a bend

Hi

Sounds like you are doing this speed on a public road man!

The roads in the UK are shite! Yo may find that the suspension being very hard makes the car track the road far more then in any other "regular car" like the BMW's you mention.
I was testdriving an Audi S3 a few weeks back and its steering was almost anonymous when compared to the Cayman.

I would suggest you get yourself a track day organised and test it on that, I have experienced what you are saying to a degree and simplay blame the roads. You can do 100 but over that is OTT unless you can find a run of lovely smooth tarmac! Concrete roads are awful..

Also check your tyres - pressures just in case.

Enjoy the car - its pretty good!!

Tone

Well at 168 mph mine still felt planted...........(not on a public road of course)

Welcome to the CaymanClub.

Not wanting to be a Killjoy, but you never know who’s reading here, and at almost twice the speed limit, I don’t think that this can be condoned on the Public Road..!! and to that extent I agree with _tone_ get it on the track for your high speed stuff !
