Question 1 st service

got my first service next week but milage is only 14k so not that happy paying £500 plus! I read somewhere they can do a light service?

Also was thinking about taking my own oil, are they OK with that?, used to do this with my M3, is it Mobil 1 and how much do I need?

Also trying to flog me a brake fluid change, although think this is just a reccomend?

cheers guys.

Most of us have changed brake fluid 2 times before the first sevice..... But it is required for them to stamp your book.

2 x 5 litres Mobil 1 is what you need (with a little to spare)

They did slight service on mine......... 6500 miles - 2 years so many modifications it makes your wallet bleed................

They charged me £250............ Worth it for the factory service orders they did............

I had mine done in Bolton and took Costco oil, no problem. Let them know when you book it in. Saved me £70+

Brake fluid has to be done every 2 years. It does "Go off" over a period of time and this should not be ignored. You can get it done at an Indi for about half the price of the OPC, but whilst it is in for a service, it's easier to get it done at the same time and get the official OPC stamp.

Don't bother with the A/C thing they will try and sell you. And if you haven't thought about it already, be prepared for the Extended Warrenty conversation.

Don't let them change your wiper blade (Unless you have £55 looking for a good home)...

If you are selling it next year - by then most of the extended warranty would be up.................? What Value to purchaser?

Mobil 1 0w / 40

Nick,
Tyres, Brakes, Clutch, Battery, Windscreen Wipers and Pretty much Everything else are considered consumable (Wear) items = Not Covered by Warranty

Tyres = Easy to sort yourself, Brakes (Discs and Pads) an Easy Replacement, as is the Battery..............

What Value is the extended warranty.................?

Probably on a 'Company Car' that does high mileage, and is not really looked after, it might make sense if the engine/transmission needs replacing.........

Other than that - £800+ in your savings account for a rainy day, buys a lot of other work if necessary............ (From a Porsche Independent like I use.)
