BBC Top Gear tonight

In light of the recent Cayman v 911 debate, it was interesting to see three sport coupes with very different BHP's going head to head tonight.

They had a section of road of the Isle of Man TT race track closed, and timed the BMW M6 (501bhp), the new Aston Martin V8 (380bhp) and the Carrera S (335bhp and with PCCB) through the section, in the rain, and with the same (highly regarded) driver. The Aston and the BMW were both timed at 1min35sec, average speed of 78mph, whilst the 997 made 1min28sec, with an average speed of 84mph !

Just goes to show that there are many more elements to a fine sports car than horses alone. Cant wait to see them test the Cayman S next week (and what car(s) they put it up against !).

Tonser,

What is the best way to get Top Gear in the US? Does anyone know? I know 5th Gear is on Speed channel and I saw their short piece on the Cayman S last week, all canned footage, nothing special and very brief. I know there are some websites that put Top Gear episodes up for download, can someone in UK make sure we get the video here please???

Thanks in advance!

When they showed the montage of what's comming up in the next 6 weeks, did you spot the red Cayman? I think it's on next weeks show.

I really hope they give it a good review. I haven't seen Fifth Gear mention the Cayman yet though and I've watched every episode this series.

...yep, saw the red croc and I'm sure it will have a thorough review with the obvious mention of whether it's worth more than a boxsterS - clarkson will still think 'all cocks buy Porsche' - hysterical!

Ah, OK, thanks. From the clip at the begining of the show it looked like they had it on the Top Gear track. Wonder if the Stig gets his hands on it?
