PASM

Having been to the Launch last night at Hatfield ( and back again today to get a better look without so many people around obstructing he view ) i have decided i quite like the standard wheels.

Do any of you who have had a Boxster have a view on PASM with the smaller wheels? Does it differ much to PASM with 19 inch in terms of ride etc?

Any answers or PASM observations / comments appreciated .

Not too many answers, just some observations.....

My dealer had his demoCayman (with PASM) parked right next to a Boxster S with the same 19' wheels and no PASM. What I noticed was that you really can't see a whole lot of ride height difference in the rear of the car. The space between the rear fender and tire hardly looked different at all between the two. The front is where you can see some difference.......not a huge amount, but a PASM Cayman definitely looks atiny bitlower in front than a non-PASM version. To the average person who doesn't have a clue there is a difference they most likely wouldn't spot it. It's not a dramatic ride height difference......its a pretty subtle one IMO.

Not a fan of PASM, but possibly the Cayman you saw was not set to PASM's Sport mode?

mpollard,

The car has a permanent 10mm lower ride height with PASM, PASM does NOT raise and lower the car. 10mm is 4/10th of an inch, hard to notice, especially on cars that haven't fully settled their suspensions yet.

Ken,

Thanks for clarifying that, of course, PASM stiffens the car in sport mode. Lowering the Cayman will definitely do a lot in the appearance department. H&R sport springs will lower that back end1.2 inches.
