Hi Jack,

Well, I've only done 500 miles so far and since I'm trying to follow the running-in instructions haven't allowed it past 5000rpm yet So, I don't feel totally qualified to post a full review until I can sample the full range of car's abilities - preferably on track!

Here are a few more comments:

Good fuel economy - 25.8mpg - Obviously I've been driving it like a wimp so far...

Adaptive Sports Seats are excellent - side bolsters really help and it's so easy to get comfortable. Much better than the old 996 seats.

Engine flexibility is great - even though on paper there isn't much more torque than a Boxster S, it really feels stronger. Perhaps variocam?

PASM will probably remain on "normal" for 95%+ of road driving, so I really question the need for this option if you don't plan to take the car to the track (I do)

I really like Basalt - have never chosen a black car before, but as someone else said I think it makes the car look smaller, which is exactly what I prefer.

Get Xenons, if you plan to do a lot of night driving or this is going to be your daily driver.

I will write more when the run-in period has expired... Hopefully in a week or so

Ah, there you are!

Thanks very much. Yes the black makes hte car look really compact and very muscular. Very stealth.

Your ride must be very good with the 18's\ and PASM on normal. Did you get the Chrono pack? If so, any difference there?

Sorry, I'll let you get the run in done and come back after the track day (though 99% of most driving will be on the road, hint!).

What run-in are you going to do? The full 2K?

Thanks

Jack

Hi Jack,

I am trying to do the full 1800 miles (3000 km) recommended in the owners manual, before taking it to the red line or the track . Yes, I got Sports Chrono - it makes a noticeable difference to throttle control, but remember I haven't really pushed the car yet, so have not experienced the change in PSM settings.

WillR,

How are you finding PASM in normal? Any hint that it is too soft.

I agree that Sport mode is not going to be used much on UK roads but still believe the normal mode gives a better ride than standard suspension.

One question re: Chrono, can you select Sports mode with engaging PASM sports mode, ie. Have Chrono Sports with PASM normal.

PASM in normal is ideal for fast but comfortable progress. It is not too soft on "normal" roads - but i suspect that on track it might be too soft.
When you engage sport chrono it also engages sport PASM, but you can immediately de-activate sport-PASM by pressing the PASM button again. So no worries...

Do you have PCM? If so, any thoughts?

Thanks WillR,

Glad you are finding PASM is ideal for our roads as this is the option I am planning to take along with 19' wheels.

How often are you using Sports Chrono? Do you think this beneficial for road driving, when in the mood for fun, or only suited to track?
