Just posted this in another thread, but thought it deserves it's own. It's just some information for people who may be waiting on a car in the UK. It also shows that the Porsche 'system' cannot be completely relied upon.
' Justin I have some very important news! Mine was also built on the 17th and have been hassling the dealer every day. it is showing 'In Ebdon' (SP?) which means it is sat in the dock waiting to get on a boat.
It is showing this because the weather in the north sea was too bad last week for the boat to sail.
So, yesterday we find out the boat is now in the UK, but there is 4 times the number of Porsche on their, because as it was stuck in harbour they kept on loading.
Anyway, as of today, my car is showing on the system that it is still in Ebdon, but in fact is being delivered to my dealer tomorrow, for me to pick up Thursday!
Get your dealer to call Porsche and speak to a lady who deals with import/allocation. Sorry can't remember her name. Your car would have been on that same boat, and you need to get them to push it through.
The driving factor my car was that my dealer wanted my car in his figures this month! It is Christmas afterall!
Are you having Tracker fitted? do you know if they just fit this at the dealer? I called Customer Services and they said thatI need to speak withmy dealer and he has to find out wheremy car is and whenI am likely to get it, etc. My dealer is back tomorrow so I'll be on the phone to him first thing.
Bet you are excited about your car. If mine had arrived I know I would be. enjoy tomorrow.
Mines built and apparently at the German port waiting for the weather to calm before it sails. How long does this ship take from Germany to the UK I wonder?
Dean

Justin, yes very excited, hence being at work at 6.00am so I can leave early to go and pick it up! Yes the dealer fits the Tracker, or at least it is fitted there. The dealer just kept saying that it would be fitted during the PDI check and plate fix. It obviously takes no time at all, as the car has been there less than a day.
V6, what date was yours built? if it wascompleted round the 17-20th then there is a good chance that it was on that boat that mine came on. As I said above, the dealer actually called a lady at Porsche that deals with the deliveries, and she gave him the 'live' update. I would recommend you get your dealer to do the same if the build date was around mine.
If it was later, then it is an indeterminate time from build to hitting the UK, but normally no more than 7-10 days. It depends if your car arrives at the docks as the firt car to go on the boat (would take longer to get here) or the last (would be quicker). However, once it reaches the UK, which is normally signified by 'Arrived' on the computer, they have to have the car with the dealer within 5 days. Then 1-2 days, depending how hard you push, for the car to get plated PDI'd and delivered into your sweaty mits.

. . . mine was apparently built before the 2nd week of November so I was told by my Dealer at the time so my guess this apparent ship waiting for good weather was the same one yours came in on but like yours still reads as 'in Ebdon' on the computer.
Thanks for the info matey!
