Think i lose out the most here. I have a new 2.7 cayman with lots of extras. Insurance is the only reason I do not have a year old 3.4 or an 04/05 carrera.

I'm 23
9 points (3 for speeding, 6 for driving on my mobile -twice)
1 crash my fault - £17,000 claim
1 crash not my fault - £5,000 claim
No no-claims bonus
Live in a city center.
Cayman has VTS enabled
Run through my company
cost just over £44,000
25,000 miles p/a

Current insurance premium £5,800.

Most insurers will not quote me or they want over £6,000. I spent 2 entire days ringing around and getting laughed at.

I can not get insurance on a 3.4 for less than £10,000 and am practically unable get insurance on a carrera (somone quoted me somthing like £19,000).

Ouch! I hope the "lots of extras" includes the PCM with telephone module to prevent you reaching the dreaded 12 points...

Got my Quote for the 'Yellow Peril' from MoreThan for the renewal (15th July)

£335.76 plus £19.93 = Maximum No Claims Bonus for Life.

£500 Excess £60 Windscreen

No Tracker Required

THIS MEANS THAT THE INSURANCE FOR THE YEAR IS LESS THAN THE ROAD FUND LICENCE...................
