Tubi or not Tubi...

Just won myself a almost new Tubi Exhaust on fleabay, all freshly polished back up to new standard by Tubi's UK importer. A steal at £500!

Now just got to find someone to fit it, anyone know how long it takes? Might try and do it myself if I can use my friends pit, presume it's pretty straightforward?!

I've heard they sound great, my only concern is noise restricted track days (Bedford, Donington, etc.), anyone know how strict they are? Last time I was at Bedford, there was a pretty loud z06 which was allowed.

Dan

Hi Dan, It should only take you an hour or so..........There’s just one awkward bolt (1 each side) on the joint between the rear end and the cat/manifold that's a bit fiddly otherwise a piece of p*ss, I'm sure it'll sound awesome, might have trouble at stricter venues though !!!!!!.. in the end that why I went for the Milltek..good luck with the fitting

Yeah Tubi would benefit by getting a lot of member feedback if they only stepped up to the plate to become a sponsor but try as I might I can't seem to find anyone "responsible" for Tubi, everyone I talk to passes the buck to someone else... I fear for the owner who has a problem with a Tubi exhaust... good luck and let us know how it goes!

No disrespect K-Man S - I'm sure the customer service will be slightly different if you're a customer rather than someone trying to sell them advertising space

I will however keep you updated on my progress and let you all know what it sounds like. I have a possible competitor as a neighbour who has a great sounding 996 with PSE!

No disrespect taken but 3 different "sources" of Tubi exhausts I have approached have all attempted to pass the buck to someone else as having decision power. I wouldn't want to see the same attitude over a repair, and for the record I haven't been trying to sell them anything I've been asking who to speak to about Tubi marketing efforts in the U.S.

Cheers for the fitting info, looks like i'll be doing it myself then! (Chances just raised of someone finding a scratched Tubi exhaust somewhere down the A11/M11!!).

Is the Miltek quieter then?

That used to be a concern of mine when I was using it 80 miles a day everyday, but got a workhorse Navara for the mundane motorway trips now!

The Caymans just used for fun spirited drives

You've said it perfectly. In fact, thank you for using the term "sputter". I've been calling it "fluttering backfiring", but it isn't backfiring as such, is it? Sputtering is what it is! The sound is tough yet elegant and very, very gratifying.
