I got mine over Christmas - 707 miles on the clock. Not sure I want to track it just yet but can't wait till I do. Might wait 'till spring...
Taking it down to the Alps first week of Feb which should be interesting. Don't want to put chains on it so just going to see how the 19's take to black ice!
So just going to see how the 19's take to black ice!
Trust me ............NOT WELL... ....... Brave Boy
My 19’s are in the shed keeping the 18’s company and I’ve now put 17’s on with Conti Winter Tyres mounted…..I remember the snow last year and on the smallest of inclines thought I was going to have to abandon my baby !!!!
No commitment! I expect more from a Cayman owner in such high community standing...
High community standing???? lol, that's funny..........Far from it, I think you'll find.........
Now if it was Bedford..................I could be persuaded.......
But Snetterton? The reality is a 4-5 hour spin each way in the dark, for a shorter "mid-winter" session in rather uncertain conditions. OK, so even if we were talking about the middle of July it doesn't mean it couldn't be sheet rain, flooding or worse. But I can't see the weather getting that much better between now and next Saturday.
At least my commitment stretches to driving my Cayman every day, rain, snow or shine..............unlike some other Nirvara-loving people I could mension

Could come-back, Jack
But, looking at the weather forecast for tomorrow, I think I'd get better lap times in the Navara than in the Cayman!!!
Gales. Downpours. Flooding. New Porsche. Race Track.... and no insurance
dans, did you try that insurance broker for future cover?
For tomorrow, best not turn the PSM off, me-thinks............
Have fun though. Can you get us some pics or even better, some video?
Jack
PSM - Porsche Stability Management
While it can’t overcome the laws of physics, the revolutionary Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system does lend an added degree of balance and control to the Cayman’s mid-engine driving dynamics, inspiring surefooted confidence in corners and extreme situations.
A standard feature on the Cayman and Cayman S, PSM continuously monitors steering input, road speed, yaw velocity and lateral acceleration to calculate the actual direction of travel. If the car begins to steer off line, PSM instantly intervenes with precision brake inputs on individual wheels to help bring the car back onto the driver’s intended path.
If braking alone isn’t enough to correct the vehicle’s cornering line, PSM then calls on the Cayman’s engine management system, adjusting engine output as needed to help stabilize handling. PSM can also compensate in an instant for mid-corner changes in load resulting from deceleration or braking. When Sport mode is selected with the optional Sport Chrono Package, PSM’s threshold for intervention is raised, allowing for greater driver involvement. If you prefer driving without automatic PSM assistance, the system can be set to standby at any time. In this case, it will only intervene under heavy braking, where both front wheels exceed the ABS threshold.
For all of its technical ability, PSM goes virtually unnoticed in everyday driving situations, preserving the Cayman’s natural agility.
Brilliant day! Started off a little wet, sighting laps were done with windscreen wipers on intermittent!! From 9am, ski's were blue, and track completely dry by midday.
The noticable difference between off-season trackdays on summer track days, were the lack of the more expensive car! I was a little nervous of entering the circuit when 80% of the cars were worth little more than £500, all armed with roll cages, etc., but most were quite polite and all were excellent drivers! The pace was a lot quicker than usual with the majority being racers.
Managed to explore the slide with traction off completely in a 2nd gear tight corner (russels), and had the back out a number of times. Very comfortable, and never feels close to the limit. I'll say it again: this car really flatters the driver!!
But, an excellent long day, and even got some in-car video footage, which I'll have to transfer over.
