Trackday cover

Just got quoted £425 for insurance on one trackday at Snetterton!! Absolutely rediculous!!!

Norwich Union Direct do not offer trackday cover, and it seems no one else will include cover for a 25 year old on track days in a £54k Porsche Cayman!!

Porsche insurance only cover 2 trackdays a year and no possibility on extensions.

Any other suggestions? (Apart form "take it easy"!!)

CCI do one-off trackday cover. alternatively, switch to a road policy that includes trackdays from e.g. Heritage and Aon

I know its not an answer to your desire to track your Cayman, but have you considered a dedicated track car? A 924S at £1500, and £500 of mild preparation will give you a good fun tracker. Failing that, try joining one of the track-day clubs. They give you ride an drive access to a number of tasty cars without risking your own.

When you look at the economics, remember that tracking a road car adds significantly to maintenance costs and wear & tear. Tyre wear, brake wear, a bleed & and oil change plus one-off insurance could easliy run to >£500 per event. Four of those will pay for a cheap track rat...

See my insurance sticky thread and try the broker I use. It is N-Union policy through them, and all PCGB club track days are covered FOC, plus free PCGB anual membership. All other track days (as long as they are "blah blah blah" approved, which most are) can be added for £70 per event. You do need prior track experience (which you have).
