Cayman Club UK DYNO-DAY

Ok Guys. Im sure we are all tired and if anything bored (and certainly confused..) with the wild-west dyno results that have been posted on this forum over the months. I would like to suggest that I organise a Cayman Club dyno-day at Surrey Rolling Road: www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk

At least this way we are all in the same boat, on the same dyno albeit with varying degrees of mods. It will be fascinating to see how the results fair with our US bretheren.....

Please confirm your interest and I will go ahead and book us in for a morning of Roollllinngggg Roaaad......!!! Hee Haa...!

(I am serious by the way)

It clashes with a track-day also. I will re-book for another date.

For now I need to confirm numbers of those interested - please let me know.

P.S. It will be interesting to see if you come up with numbers that would put it over 300 horse power in stock condition as was the case witn K Man-S. I believe the consensus is that the stock Cayman motor is producing more that 300hp.

I may turn up depending on the date.

It will be interesting to see what a stock Cayman S makes on Surrey Rolling Road's rollers. When they tested my Elise, it produced quite a bit less than other rollers, so I think they are quite pessimistic.

Maybe. I ran my 968CS on their RR. The 'book' figure is 240bhp, but most don't make this (complex reasons for this - the best I 've heard is that the head design was optimised for a LP turbo that didn't happen). My 968 had a full S/S Janspeed exhaust, induction kit and chip. It always felt strong to me, but gave 220bhp at the corrected flywheel figure.

Most of the std cars on this day were a little off their spec. figures, although the TVR's were miles away....

Any post 28/4 date and I'll be up for it.

Interestingly the results were 11 bhp down on my RR results from Parr last week when I went to SRR on Saturday. I must confess that Parr have much more sophisticated kit - dyno pack which meaures at the flywheel to Porsche spec. Although Im running different fuel I do feel that SRR's figures are slightly lower than actual.
