I've played with all sorts of things, from mocking up a GT3 wing, a GT2 (alla Manthey Motors) trying a Mitsubishi Evo9 wing element, a Ford Puma super1600 wing, a Subaru P2000 element. and the biggest problem is always is the same. If you put a big wing on the Cayman it needs to have height, and because the Cayman is less steep than a Carrera you need longer wing supports and which ever way I've done them, I think they look Cr*p. because they are just so long….!!
So I've gone back to a smaller wing i.e. the Porsche Aerokit size. I've moulded the bottom (support) almost as the Porsche kit (changing just enough for copyright reasons) and making the wing element in Carbon. Maybe I’ll add endplates. At some point.
The one shown below, started life as full carbon top element, (in Black) but I wasn’t happy with the finish so painted it to match the car.
Gives an Idea below, just how long the supports need to be,,, Just not happy with the length

Tess, I admire your designs but always worry about the fact that you can't treat the individual front and rear components in isolation. At the end of the day, it is critical that they work together to optimum effect or unexpected consequences can occur (like being thrown off the road when driving in anger). This worry comes from observation of some modifications done to the early Turbos in this country. Do you believe that the close resemblance to proven aero pieces will be sufficient? Aerodynamic changes can often offer up quite interesting and sometimes sudden results as I’m sure you are aware.

Yea your right Santa Fe, that's the main reason I've stayed quite close, within reason, to what has been tested in the wind tunnel and therefore "proven". Hence slightly larger splitters equates to slightly larger rear wing, but working on old engineering principles ....."if it looks right" ... of course I know where you're coming from, you never know, I think that I’ve just sorted a contact to use a full size facility for a part day, in march !................... by which time I've got to have something to "Test" !!!
Looks great! Bad timing, my Speedart front lip just arrived. I would of went with your design instead.
Very interested in your rear spoiler, have you look at GT3RS spoiler look, attaching to the rear similar the techart GT style. When are you expecting the rear spoiler to be ready?

The GT3RS spoiler is not dissimilar to the spoiler on the Red car 2 posts above, and IMO doesn’t suit the car because of the long uprights.
What's on the back of my car is moulded NOW .Just needs a little fine tuning (as previously posted I may play with endplates or a gurney flap !!)
true, but I was referring to the trunk lip spoiler intergration with the GT3RS spoiler like on the red car but with a middle whale wing.
anyway, count me in for one of your rear spoiler, if it looks similar to the first picture on the silver CS. Will your design be slight taller and wider? But can you make it where there is still room for the factory spoiler to deploy and close? The porsche factory spoiler, you have to disable the rear spoiler.

I assume fitment would be exactly the same for a 987 Boxster S too? If so put me down, would be interested in CF finish/weave.
Waz: I think you'll find the front PU on the Boxster is totally different to the Cayman unfortunately

There are two small issues with the factory spoiler working with the Porsche Kit or similar design. 1) because the kit lips onto the rear of the hatch, the gap between the hatch and the existing up and down spoiler dosn't exist anymore and 2) again because the kit spoiler base actually sits on top of the hatch the top of the existing up and down spoiler, in down mode, would be about a 1/4" to low. Both these issues can be fixed with a re-work of just the top (unscrewable) section of the existing wing. again if there was enough interest it wouldnt be a crazy option

Yep agree 100% hence why I left it for a long time, as I thought somebody would make a nice one, but they didn't, and even if they did it was so damn expensive

I'm probably in for both. Maybe I can come up with a fast and stable way to attach and remove regularly the front splitter for track use. The things so often get in the way when driving around town.
